Covariance matrix estimation for stationary time series

open access: yes, 2012
We obtain a sharp convergence rate for banded covariance matrix estimates of stationary processes. A precise order of magnitude is derived for spectral radius of sample covariance matrices.

Matrix Transformations and Quasi-Newton Methods [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2007
We first recall some properties of infinite tridiagonal matrices considered as matrix transformations in sequence spaces of the formssξ,sξ∘,sξ(c), orlp(ξ). Then, we give some results on the finite section method for approximating a solution of an infinite linear system.

Effects of Heat-Treatment on the Microstructure and Wear Resistance of a High-Chromium Cast Iron for Rolls

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2016
The variations of microstructure and mechanical properties of a high-chromium cast iron for rolls were studied from as-cast to the final heat treatments.

Algebraic Signal Processing Theory: Cooley-Tukey Type Algorithms for Polynomial Transforms Based on Induction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A polynomial transform is the multiplication of an input vector $x\in\C^n$ by a matrix $\PT_{b,\alpha}\in\C^{n\times n},$ whose $(k,\ell)$-th element is defined as $p_\ell(\alpha_k)$ for polynomials $p_\ell(x)\in\C[x]$ from a list $b=\{p_0(x),\dots,p_{n ...

Matrix generalizations of some dynamic field theories

open access: yes, 1995
We introduce matrix generalizations of the Navier--Stokes (NS) equation for fluid flow, and the Kardar--Parisi--Zhang (KPZ) equation for interface growth.

Nonnegative Matrix Factorization with Transform Learning [PDF]

open access: yes2018 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2018
Traditional NMF-based signal decomposition relies on the factorization of spectral data, which is typically computed by means of short-time frequency transform. In this paper we propose to relax the choice of a pre-fixed transform and learn a short-time orthogonal transform together with the factorization.

Efficient computation for the eigenvalues and eigenfunctions of two-dimensional non-separable linear canonical transform

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
The parameter matrix of the two-dimensional non-separable linear canonical transform (2D-NSLCT) determines its specific form and properties. Certain forms of the 2D-NSLCT are consistent with well-known transforms, such as two-dimensional non-separable ...

Phase Transformation Behavior of Ultrasonic-treated 7085 Aluminum Alloy During Heat Treatment

open access: yesCailiao gongcheng, 2016
The transformation behavior of secondary phases in conventional ingot and ultrasonic ingot during heat-treatment process were investigated by OM, SEM, EDS and DSC. Crystalline phase transition was observed by SEM with in situ heating station.

Numerical treatment of the strongly coupled nonlinear fractal-fractional Schrödinger equations through the shifted Chebyshev cardinal functions

open access: yesAlexandria Engineering Journal, 2020
In this paper, a new version of the strongly coupled nonlinear fractal-fractional Schrödinger equations is introduced by using the fractal-fractional derivatives in the Riemann-Liouville sense with Mittag-Leffler kernel.
