Human Pluripotent Stem Cell-Derived Alveolar Organoids: Cellular Heterogeneity and Maturity [PDF]

open access: yesTuberculosis and Respiratory Diseases
Chronic respiratory diseases such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and respiratory infections injure the alveoli; the damage evoked is mostly irreversible and occasionally leads to death.

Length at Maturity, Sex Ratio, and Proportions of Maturity of the Giant Electric Ray, Narcine entemedor, in Its Septentrional Distribution

open access: yesAnimals, 2022
The size at which a certain fraction of a fish population reaches sexual maturity is an important parameter of life history. The estimation of this parameter based on logistic or sigmoid models could provide different ogives and values of length at ...

The Maturity Premium

open access: yesSSRN Electronic Journal, 2018
Abstract We show that firms with longer debt maturities earn risk premia not explained by unconditional factors. Embedding dynamic capital structure choices in an asset-pricing framework where the market price of risk evolves with the business cycle, we find that firms with long-term debt exhibit more countercyclical leverage.

Claudin‐6 Protein Expression in Atypical Teratoid/Rhabdoid Tumors Is Strongly Enriched in the Molecular Subgroup AT/RT‐TYR

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Claudin‐6 has emerged as a promising immunotherapeutic target, yet protein‐level data in atypical teratoid/rhabdoid tumors (AT/RTs) have been inconsistent. We analyzed 36 well‐characterized AT/RT samples and found membranous claudin‐6 protein expression in 58% of cases, with striking enrichment in the molecular subgroup AT/RT‐TYR (100%) and ...

Investigation on the effects of total organic carbon content and maturity of coal measure shale on biomethane production performance in the anaerobic digestion system

open access: yesMeitan xuebao
Coal measure shale gas is an important component of coal measure gas, and it is rich in in-situ microorganisms and dispersed organic matter required for microbial metabolism, making it possible to produce biomethane through anaerobic digestion, and ...

A Fruit Colour Development Index (CDI) to Support Harvest Time Decisions in Peach and Nectarine Orchards

open access: yesHorticulturae, 2022
Fruit skin colour is one of the most important visual fruit quality parameters driving consumer preferences. Proximal sensors such as machine vision cameras can be used to detect skin colour in fruit visible in collected images, but their accuracy in ...

To Mature or not to Mature: The Information Systems Conundrum

open access: yesSouth African Computer Journal, 2013
Research has been done within the South African information technology (IT) industry over the last decade with regard to project management maturity (PMM) and the impact it has on delivering information systems (IS) projects successfully. The research was done to determine whether IS PMM per knowledge area has improved over the last decade.

Oocyte maturation [PDF]

open access: yesHuman Reproduction, 1998
Primary oocytes recovered from small and growing follicles of > or = 3 mm in the ovaries of untreated women, can be matured in vitro, will fertilize and develop in vitro, and when transferred to the patient, develop to term. However, the implantation rate of cleaved embryos has been disappointingly low and when embryos are allowed to develop beyond the

Time Toxicity in Wilms Tumor: Quantifying the Burden of Healthcare Interaction in the First Year After Diagnosis

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Wilms tumor (WT) treatment imposes a significant time burden on patients and their families. Time toxicity is a patient‐centered metric that quantifies the burden of healthcare interaction. We sought to define time toxicity in the first year after diagnosis of WT and hypothesized that it would increase as tumor stage and treatment ...

Pre-Sowing Treatment of Tilia cordata Mill. by Seed Material Fermentation

open access: yesPlants, 2022
The aim of the work was to verify whether the fermentation of seed material is a suitable pre-sowing treatment of small-leaved lime. Seed material of two origins was treated for a period of 7, 14 and 21 days using anaerobic fermentation and for 10, 20 ...
