Sedimentary Geology, 1990Abstract Geodynamic principles and processes are combined with continental margin type basin position on a plate, and crustal type to classify sedimentary basins in a tectonic mode. Tectonic basin classifications, however, have not improved the rate of discovery of hydrocarbons or mineral deposits in sedimentary basins.
