Production regionalization study of Chinese angelica based on MaxEnt model

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica, 2016
The distribution information of Chinese angelica was collected by interview investigation and field survey, and 43 related environmental factors were collected, some kinds of functional chemical constituents of Angelica sinensis were analyzed. Integrated climate, topography and other related ecological factors, the habitat suitability study was ...

MaxEnt modeling of soil-transmitted helminth infection distributions in Thailand

Parasitology Research, 2018
Infections due to soil-transmitted helminths (STHs), i.e. Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichiura, hookworms, and Strongyloides stercoralis, are widely distributed in tropical and subtropical areas in which approximately 1.5 billion people are infected.

Ecological suitability distribution of hop based on MaxEnt modeling

Environmental Monitoring and Assessment
Hop has been widely utilized in both food production and traditional medicine owing to their distinctive flavor and various pharmacological effects. In recent years, the increasing demand for hop has led to their cultivation in many regions across China.

Suitability modelling of banana production in Zimbabwe using Maxent

2023
Aim Large-scale banana production in Zimbabwe is confined to agro-ecological zone 1, although other regions have managed to produce to a limited extent. This is mainly because of the favourable climatic conditions for banana growth found in this region.

Modelling Drug Behaviour in the Body with Maxent

1992
Description of the passage of drugs into, around and out of the body is conventionally based on simple compartmental models, often with only one or two compartments. These models are clearly gross simplifications of such a complex biological system.

[Optimizing MaxEnt model in the prediction of species distribution.]

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2019
Maximum Entropy (MaxEnt) model has been widely used in recent years. However, MaxEnt is highly inclined to produce misleading results if it is not well optimized. We summarized the researches about the model optimization for sampling bias correction, model complexity tuning, presence-absence threshold selection, and model evaluation.

Entropy Based Pruning of Backoff Maxent Language Models with Contextual Features

2018 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech and Signal Processing (ICASSP), 2018
In this paper, we present a pruning technique for maximum entropy (MaxEnt) language models. It is based on computing the exact entropy loss when removing each feature from the model, and it explicitly supports backoff features by replacing each removed feature with its backoff.

Probabilistic Equilibrium: A Review on the Application of MAXENT to Macroeconomic Models

2018
The concept of equilibrium is central to many macroeconomic models. However, after the 2008 crisis, many of the most used macroeconomic models have been subject to criticism, after their failure in predicting and explaining the crisis. Over the last years, a response to this situation has been the proposal of new approaches to the study of ...

MaxEnt and MaxEP in Modeling Fractal Topography and Atmospheric Turbulence

2013
Recent investigations on scale-invariant processes such as topography and modeling evapotranspiration demonstrate the usefulness and potential of the principles of maximum entropy (MaxEnt) and maximum entropy production (MaxEP) in the study of Earth systems.
