Morphometric and Paleobiological Insights Into Pleistocene Sicilian Wolf Populations

open access: yesActa Zoologica, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Pleistocene wolves (Canis lupus) from Sicily represent one of the few known insular populations of this species from that time period. Despite their potential relevance for understanding carnivore adaptations in insular contexts, no dedicated study has previously investigated their morphology and evolutionary significance.

Five Year Clinical, Radiographic and Soft Tissue Profilometric Outcomes at Two Narrow‐Diameter Implants to Replace Missing Maxillary Lateral Incisors

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To compare the 5‐year outcomes in patients with congenitally missing maxillary lateral incisors (MLIs) rehabilitated with two different narrow‐diameter implants (NDIs). Materials and Methods One‐hundred patients rehabilitated with a cement‐retained bi‐layered zirconia single‐unit crown on either a Ø2.9 mm (Test) (n = 50) or a Ø3.3 ...

Systematic evaluation of the features influencing the accuracy of third order measurements [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The aims of this study were to evaluate the relationship of third order measurements on dental casts with those on lateral radiographs, and to identify those incisor features on radiographs which can best explain third order measurements on dental casts.

Cross‐Linked Volume‐Stable Collagen Matrix Versus Connective Tissue Graft for Soft Tissue Augmentation at Implant Site. A Non‐Inferiority, Multicenter Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aims To compare the efficacy of cross‐linked volume‐stable collagen matrix (VCMX) versus connective tissue graft (CTG) to increase buccal peri‐implant mucosal thickness (MT) around dental implants. Methods The present is a parallel, randomized multi‐center clinical trial, according to the CONSORT statement.
