Maxillary first molar wear: a longitudinal study of children [PDF]

open access: yesAnatomy & Cell Biology, 2018
The aim of this study is to examine the correlation between tooth wear and age by quantitatively measuring maxillary first molar wear in children. A total of 150 maxillary dental models were analyzed in 30 subjects (male, 11; female, 19) with an age range of 6-14 years.

Biomechanical strain patterns in Meckel's cartilage underlie mandibular variation in FGFR2 mouse models

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Sequence variations in fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2) are associated with craniosynostosis syndromes, disrupting craniofacial development, yet early mandibular alterations remain poorly characterized. This study examined Meckel's cartilage (MC) and mandibular morphology in mouse models of Apert (Fgfr2+/P253R) and Crouzon ...

A biomechanical optimized Zr58Cu25Al14Nb3 bulk metallic glass dental implant improves peri‐implant stress distribution and bone quality under physiological loading

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This study reports a novel Zr58Cu25Al14Nb3 bulk metallic glass that possesses high mechanical strength and low elastic modulus, which further promotes efficient mechanotransduction and significantly improves peri‐implant bone quality upon cyclic occlusal loading.

Neonatal tooth in maxillary molar region: A case report

open access: yesJournal of Oral Research and Review, 2020
Those teeth that erupt within the first month of life are called neonatal teeth. It may occur in any region of the maxillary or mandibular arches but its incidence in the maxillary molar areas is extremely rare.

Developmental Morphometry of the Paranasal Sinuses in Subjects Aged 1–25 Years: A Computed Tomography Study

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The present study aimed to evaluate the developmental morphometry of the paranasal sinuses using computed tomography (CT) in subjects aged 1–25 years and to characterize age‐related changes in sinus dimensions, volume, and surface area throughout childhood, adolescence, and young adulthood.

Clinical management of the ectopic eruption of a maxillary first permanent molar – Case report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Ectopic eruption is a concept including those clinical cases in which teeth show abnormal eruption pattern and erupt ectopically, in an incorrect position. This abnormality has been pointed out in the literature for the first permanent molars, mainly the

Finite element analysis of the impact of different traction anchorage locations on maxillary molar distalization with clear aligners and implant screws

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Objective This study aims to evaluate the impact of different implant screw insertion sites and traction point combinations of clear aligners on anchorage control during maxillary molar distalization using a three-dimensional finite element analysis ...

Digital Template-Guided Microapicoectomy In Maxillary First Molar

open access: yesInternational Dental Journal
Introduction: Microsurgical apicoectomy was performed on the mesiobuccal root of a maxillary left first molar with chronic apical periodontitis and an dislocated separated nickel-titanium (NiTi) instrument, assisted by a 3D-printed digital template. Case
