Comparison of Piezoelectric and High‐Speed Drills for Frontal Beak Osteotomy in Endoscopic Sinus Surgery—Exploratory Study

open access: yesClinical Otolaryngology, Volume 51, Issue 3, Page 386-393, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Frontal beak reduction is a critical and challenging step in endoscopic sinus surgery (ESS) for chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS). Traditional high‐speed drills can risk thermal injury and soft tissue trauma, whereas piezoelectric surgery uses ultrasonic vibrations for selective bone cutting and may improve surgical precision.

Platelet ‐ Rich Fibrin in the Management of Oro‐Antral Communications and Fistulas: A Systematic Review of Systematic Reviews

open access: yesOral Surgery, Volume 19, Issue 2, Page 156-162, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Oroantral communication (OAC) and fistulas (OAF) are pathological openings between the maxillary sinus and the oral cavity. Traditional closure methods, such as buccal or palatal flaps, are effective but can cause postoperative discomfort and tissue loss.

Assessment of the Advancement of Alveolar Bone Loss in Canine Patients Receiving Definitive Radiotherapy for Sinonasal Tumors

open access: yesVeterinary Radiology &Ultrasound, Volume 67, Issue 3, May 2026.
ABSTRACT Radiotherapy for the treatment of sinonasal tumors in dogs is generally well tolerated, but the range of long‐term adverse effects remains poorly understood. In people receiving radiation for head and neck tumors, existing dental disease is a predisposing factor for radiation‐induced oral complications that can lead to worsening periodontal ...

Anatomic Diagram as a Novel Assessment Strategy for Subclinical Local Residual Disease in Sinonasal Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Intestinal‐Type Adenocarcinoma

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, Volume 16, Issue 4, Page 333-344, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Objective In the last two decades, transnasal endoscopic surgery (TES) has become pivotal in the management of sinonasal tumors. This approach involves a multiblock tumor resection, adding complexity to the interpretation of surgical margins after pathological examination.

Significance of Early Proton Beam Therapy Initiation in Achieving Complete Response in Pediatric Medulloblastoma: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Introduction Proton beam therapy (PBT) has proven to be highly effective in treating pediatric medulloblastoma, offering both excellent therapeutic outcomes and reduced side effects. However, factors influencing tumor response following PBT remain poorly defined, including the optimal interval time between surgery and PBT initiation (ISP ...

Severe Sporadic Primary Hyperparathyroidism Masquerading as Hyperparathyroidism Jaw Tumor Syndrome

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 4, April 2026.
Expansile left maxillary lesion. ABSTRACT Jaw lesions are rare in Primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) and often mimic odontogenic tumors or syndromic conditions such as hyperparathyroidism Jaw Tumor (HPT‐JT) syndrome. We describe a 29 years old Ethiopian woman who presented with an 8‐month history of progressive left maxillary swelling and a 3‐year ...

Advanced Platelet‐Rich Fibrin in Surgical Management of Medication‐Related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw: A Prospective Case Series Study

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Dental Research, Volume 12, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Background Medication‐related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) is a severe complication associated with antiresorptive or antiangiogenic therapy. Surgical debridement is the mainstay of treatment for moderate to advanced disease, while adjunctive regenerative approaches such as advanced platelet‐rich fibrin (A‐PRF) may enhance soft tissue ...
