[Maxillary sinus septa. Prevalence and anatomy].

Revue de stomatologie et de chirurgie maxillo-faciale, 2012
Maxillary sinus septa may complicate sinus elevation procedures, especially when they are not diagnosed prior to surgery. The authors had for aim to review published data, to analyze the etiology, the prevalence, the localization, and the size of maxillary sinus septa, and to determine what were the best preoperative radiological examinations. The ...

Axial Triangle of the Maxillary Sinus, and its Surgical Implication With the Position of Maxillary Sinus Septa During Sinus Floor Elevation: A CBCT Analysis

Journal of Oral Implantology, 2020
The aim of this study was to measure the convexity of the lateral wall of the maxillary (Mx) sinus and identify the locational distribution of antral septa in relation to the zygomaticomaxillary buttress (ZMB), in order to suggest another anatomical consideration and surgical modification of sinus floor elevation procedures.

[The morphology and incidence of maxillary sinus septa].

RoFo : Fortschritte auf dem Gebiete der Rontgenstrahlen und der Nuklearmedizin, 1997
The variations and frequency of bony septa in the paranasal sinuses were studied prospectively by means of computed tomography. The presence and morphology of the septa in the paranasal sinuses were studied in 100 consecutive non-selected adults.CT examinations of 200 maxillary antra showed variations in 26 (13%).

The effects of posterior alveolar bone height on the height of maxillary sinus septa

Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy, 2019
The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether posterior alveolar bone height affects maxillary sinus septa (MSS) height in dentate and edentulous patients, as determined by cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).This retrospective analysis enrolled 166 patients (91 men and 75 women) with a mean age of 43.12 ± 15.26 years (range 18-74 years), who had ...

The incidence, location, and height of maxillary sinus septa in the edentulous and dentate maxilla

Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1999
This study evaluated the incidence, location, and height of antral septa and demonstrates their clinical implications. One hundred ninety-four maxillary posterior regions, subdivided into four groups (group 1, 61 clinically examined atrophic ridges; group 2, 41 anatomically examined atrophic ridges; group 3, 42 radiographically [CT] examined atrophic ...

THE PREVALENCE, COMPLICATIONS AND MANAGEMENT OF MAXILLARY SINUS SEPTA

2013
Objectives: Historically, maxillary posterior teeth have demonstrated a high incidence of periodontal bone loss and consequently tooth loss. The result is often a loss of vertical height in the posterior maxilla due to sinus pneumatization. This study was carried out to evaluate the incidence and clinical implications of maxillary sinus septa to sinus ...

RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PRESENCE OF ANTRAL SEPTA AND THE HEIGHT OF THE MAXILLARY SINUS

2014
