Labial Cartilaginous Choristoma Mimicking a Mucocele: A Rare Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Choristomas are non‐neoplastic, tumor‐like lesions composed of histologically normal tissue in ectopic locations, though their exact pathogenesis remains unknown. Labial cartilaginous choristoma is an exceptionally rare benign lesion that clinically mimics common lip swellings, posing a diagnostic challenge. A 25‐year‐old male presented with a

Management of Mandibular Third Molars With an Interradicular Inferior Alveolar Nerve Using Ultrasonic Surgery: A Case Series of Three Patients

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The interradicular course of the inferior alveolar nerve represents a significant challenge for oral surgeon. In this context, ultrasonic surgery may provide a precise and safe alternative for sectioning of impacted third molar roots, particularly in procedures involving mandibular molars with an interradicular course of the inferior alveolar ...

Anterior Cingulate Cortex Astrocytes Regulate Chronic Itch and Comorbid Negative Emotional Disorders in Mice

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
ACC astrocytes are morphologically and functionally activated in DCP‐induced chronic itch. Chemogenetic activation of these astrocytes positively modulates the calcium activity of local CaMKII+ excitatory neurons and the release of D‐serine and ATP, and exerts anti‐pruritic, anxiolytic, and anti‐depressant effects.

Autofluorescence Imaging and Methylene Blue‐Mediated Photodynamic Therapy for Early Detection and Management of Subclinical Actinic Cheilitis

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, Volume 19, Issue 9, September 2026.
Fluorescence imaging enables the detection of subclinical actinic cheilitis by revealing early optical alterations in lip tissue. Methylene blue‐mediated photodynamic therapy selectively targets dysplastic areas, enhancing treatment precision and preventing disease progression without adverse effects.
