Internodal Analysis of Avicennia marina in the Western Arabian Gulf

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2021
The growth of Avicennia marina (A. marina) was not previously assessed using internodal analysis in the Western Arabian Gulf. The node production in 40 branches/axillary shoot in Syhat city, Saudi Arabia, ranged from 6 to 9 nodes y–1.

Mid-term periodicities of cosmic ray intensities

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Research, 2011
Galactic cosmic ray intensities (GCRs) observed by five neutron monitors (NMs) have been used to study cosmic ray modulations between 1971 and 2007. The influence of interplanetary magnetic polarity (IMF) states has been studied for the A  0 epochs.

Lower limb kinematic, kinetic and spatial-temporal gait data for healthy adults using a self-paced treadmill

open access: yesData in Brief, 2021
Through gait analysis, gait phases can be identified, the kinematic and kinetic parameters of human gait events can be determined, and quantitative evaluation can be undertaken. This data article is the first to report a comprehensive data set on a large

Non-Stationary Modelling of Extreme Temperatures in a Mountainous Area of Greece

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2016
The generalised extreme value (GEV) distribution is often fitted to environmental time series of extreme values such as annual maxima and minima of temperatures.

Maxima and minima [PDF]

open access: yesEdinburgh Mathematical Notes, 1940
In my experience answers to questions about maxima and minima are as a rule hazy and unsatisfactory. I suggest that the principle “according as a function is increasing or decreasing, its derivative is positive or negative” might be applied more fully. All functions are here assumed continuous.

Randomly Stopped Sums, Minima and Maxima for Heavy-Tailed and Light-Tailed Distributions

open access: yesAxioms
This paper investigates the randomly stopped sums, minima and maxima of heavy- and light-tailed random variables. The conditions on the primary random variables, which are independent but generally not identically distributed, and counting random ...

Age and Sex Variability of Initial Parts of the QRS Complex Displayed in Isointegral Maps of Young People

open access: yesActa Medica, 2004
Although body surface electrocardiographic mapping is used also in clinical practice, there are only a few papers concerning the isointegral maps (IIMs) in children.

Preoperative Cytopenia in Patients Affected by High‐Risk Neuroblastoma: Just a Matter of Platelets?

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims In patients affected by high‐risk neuroblastoma (HR‐NB), complete macroscopic resection (CMR) is associated with better outcomes. These patients are often cytopenic due to intensive induction regimens. The aim of the present study is to assess the impact of preoperative cytopenia on surgical outcome in patients with HR‐NB ...

Lifestyle Behaviors and Cardiotoxic Treatment Risks in Adult Childhood Cancer Survivors

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Higher doses of anthracyclines and heart‐relevant radiotherapy increase cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. This study assessed CVD and CVD risk factors among adult childhood cancer survivors (CCSs) across cardiotoxic treatment risk groups and examined associations between lifestyle behaviors and treatment risks.

Prognostic Impact of Treatment Modalities, Including Targeted Compartmental Radio‐Immunotherapy, in a Cohort of Neuroblastoma Patients With CNS Metastases at Relapse

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Neuroblastoma (NB) with central nervous system (CNS) metastases is rare at diagnosis, but occurs more often during relapse/progression. Patients with CNS metastases face a dismal prognosis, with no standardized curative treatment available.
