Internodal Analysis of Avicennia marina in the Western Arabian Gulf
The growth of Avicennia marina (A. marina) was not previously assessed using internodal analysis in the Western Arabian Gulf. The node production in 40 branches/axillary shoot in Syhat city, Saudi Arabia, ranged from 6 to 9 nodes y–1.

Mid-term periodicities of cosmic ray intensities
Galactic cosmic ray intensities (GCRs) observed by five neutron monitors (NMs) have been used to study cosmic ray modulations between 1971 and 2007. The influence of interplanetary magnetic polarity (IMF) states has been studied for the A 0 epochs.

Through gait analysis, gait phases can be identified, the kinematic and kinetic parameters of human gait events can be determined, and quantitative evaluation can be undertaken. This data article is the first to report a comprehensive data set on a large

Non-Stationary Modelling of Extreme Temperatures in a Mountainous Area of Greece
The generalised extreme value (GEV) distribution is often fitted to environmental time series of extreme values such as annual maxima and minima of temperatures.

Recoherence in the entanglement dynamics and classical orbits in the N-atom Jaynes-Cummings model [PDF]
The rise in linear entropy of a subsystem in the N-atom Jaynes-Cummings model is shown to be strongly influenced by the shape of the classical orbits of the underlying classical phase space: we find a one-to-one correspondence between maxima (minima) of ...

On critical points of the objective functional for maximization of qubit observables
We study unconstrained control of a two-level quantum system and analyse critical points of the objective functional which represents quantum average of system observable at some final time $T$. In Proc. Steklov Inst. Math.

Extreme behavior of multivariate phase-type distributions [PDF]
This paper investigates the limiting distributions of the componentwise maxima and minima of suitably normalized iid multivariate phase-type random vectors. In the case of maxima, a large parametric class of multivariate extreme value (MEV) distributions

Magnetoresistance Oscillations in Two-dimensional Electron Systems Induced by AC and DC Fields
We report on magnetotransport measurements in a high-mobility two-dimentional electron system subject simultaneously to AC (microwave) and DC (Hall) fields. We find that DC excitation affects microwave photoresistance in a nontrivial way. Photoresistance
