Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

On estimation of maximal value of full diffusion time of infused and implanted dopants

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics for Industry
In this paper, we estimate the maximal annealing time of dopant and/or radiation defects during the manufacturing of elements of integrated circuits by dopant diffusion and ion implantation.

Selected Cases of Bi-Area Contact for Cylindrical Elements

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2015
The paper presents a general solution to selected problems concerning the bi-area contact of cylindrical elements with small deviations from circular contour. Contact areas and pressure distribution were determined.

MAXIMAL SUBSETS OF PAIRWISE NONCOMMUTING ELEMENTS OF SOME p-GROUPS OF MAXIMAL CLASS

open access: yes, 2011
Let G be a group. A subset X of G is a set of pairwise noncommuting elements if xy≠yx for any two distinct elements x and y in X. If |X|≥|Y | for any other set of pairwise noncommuting elements Y in G, then X is said to be a maximal subset of pairwise ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Some Maximal Elements' Theorems in -Spaces

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2009
Let be a finite or infinite index set, let be a topological space, and let be a family of -spaces. For each , let be a set-valued mapping.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Spectral Rank of Maximal Finite-Rank Elements in Banach Jordan Algebras

open access: yesExtracta Mathematicae, 2016
We give a new proof to a spectral characterisation of the spectral rank established by Aupetit by replacing his deep analytic arguments by the new characterisation of the connected component of the group of invertible elements obtained by O. Loos.
