Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Interplay of Monopoles and P-Vortices

open access: yes, 2003
We show that P-Vortices in the confinement phase of SU(2) lattice gauge theory form one large percolating (infrared) cluster and a number of small (ultraviolet) clusters.

Maximal Buchsbaum Modules of Finite Projective Dimension

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1993
The purpose of the paper is to study the class of maximal Buchsbaum modules of finite projective dimension. The author first establishes an equivalence between the opposite category of the stable category of modules of finite projective dimension and a certain full subcategory of the derived category of complexes, which is very basic in the theory ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Hybrid Methods for Equilibrium Problems and Fixed Points Problems of a Countable Family of Relatively Nonexpansive Mappings in Banach Spaces

open access: yesFixed Point Theory and Applications, 2010
The purpose of this paper is to introduce hybrid projection algorithms for finding a common element of the set of common fixed points of a countable family of relatively nonexpansive mappings and the set of solutions of an equilibrium problem in the ...

The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Order type dataset analysis for fiducial markers

open access: yesData in Brief, 2018
Order Type (OT) describes a point set avoiding the use of metric information. We show that OT is a descriptor which is invariant to Euclidean geometric transformations, change of scale and perspective projection. In this paper we provide the data related

Weak Values as Context Dependent Values of Observables and Born's Rule

open access: yes, 2011
We characterize a value of an observable by a `sum rule' for generally non-commuting observables and a `product rule' when restricted to a maximal commuting subalgebra of observables together with the requirement that the value is unity for the ...

When is the Maximal Ring of Quotients Projective? [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1975
Let R R be an associative ring with 1 1 , and Q Q its maximal ring of right quotients. If r r belongs to R R , a right insulator for r r in R R is a finite subset of R , { r
