Cosine 2DPCA With Weighted Projection Maximization

IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, 2023
Two-dimensional principal component analysis (2DPCA), known to be very sensitive to outliers, employs the square F -norm as the distance metric and only satisfies the optimal objective of maximizing projection variance. However, the objective of minimizing reconstruction errors for all samples is not optimized as much as possible. To handle the problem,

Maximizing project cash availability

Naval Research Logistics (NRL), 2006
AbstractConsider a project during the life cycle of which there are cash payouts and in‐flows. To better meet his financial commitments, the project owner would like to meet all deadlines without running out of cash. We show that the cash availability objective is similar to the total weighted flowtime used to measure work‐in‐progress performance in ...

Projections maximizing Tsallis entropy

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2007
We consider a small closed physical systems. It has fixed energy and if the energy is the sum of squares of its generale coordinates then the distribution of any single coordinate will follow a distribution that maximizes Tsallis entropy. For many aspects of entropy can be discussed for such small systems without going to the thermodynamical limit.

EXPECTED MAXIMIZATION ALGORITHM: PROJECTION DEPTH APPROACH

Far East Journal of Theoretical Statistics, 2019
Summary: This paper presents a novel computational procedure of an expected maximization (EM) algorithm for multidimensional Gaussian finite mixture models. The main idea behind this approach is replacing the sample mean and covariance by projection depth-based location and scatter in maximization steps of the EM algorithm.

Maximizing Genetic Diversity in Coral Restoration Projects

2022
As natural coral populations decline, thousands of outplanted corals are poised to dominate reefs in the hardest-hit areas, such as the Florida Keys. Genetic management plans are urgently needed to prevent unintended erosion of genetic diversity in managed populations.

Maxim Gorky’s World Literature Project

2022

Graph automorphisms with maximal projection distances

1999
This paper introduces diametrical graph automorphisms. A graph automorphism is called diametrical if it has the property that the distance between each vertex and its image is equal to the diameter of the graph. The structure of diametrically automorphic graphs is examined.

Maximizing Split-Half Reliability Estimates for Projective Techniques

Journal of Personality Assessment, 1985
Hand Test data from comparable sets of clinical samples were analyzed for reliability using the usual odd-even split and then also calculating all possible (126) split-half combinations. Maximum stable reliabilities were obtained which were substantially superior to the odd-even method.

The five maxims of project satisfaction

Aslib Proceedings, 2001
Software development projects are notoriously poorly managed. It is not uncommon for projects to be delivered late and over budget by a factor of 50% to 100% ‐‐ in fact, in some software development organisations it is expected or even regarded as normal. The paper aims to fuse traditional project management theory with customer satisfaction principles

The non–lexical maximal projection split

South African Journal of Linguistics, 1994
