Perturbative static quark potential in Maximal Abelian gauge
We calculate the static quark potential for an SU(N) gauge theory in the Maximal Abelian gauge as well as its Abelian projection up to two loops in perturbation theory. We discuss its renormalization properties.

The Simple Center Projection of SU(2) Gauge Theory [PDF]
We consider the SU(2) lattice gauge model. We propose a new gauge invariant definition of center projection, which we call the Simple Center Projection.

Dictionary learning via projected maximal exploration
This work presents a geometrical analysis of the Large Step Gradient Descent (LGD) dictionary learning algorithm. LGD updates the atoms of the dictionary using a gradient step with a step size equal to twice the optimal step size. We show that the large step gradient descent can be understood as a maximal exploration step where one goes as far away as ...

An effective action for monopoles and knot solitons in Yang-Mills theory [PDF]
By comparision with numerical results in the maximal Abelian projection of lattice Yang-Mills theory, it is argued that the nonperturbative dynamics of Yang Mills theory can be described by a set of fields that take their values in the coset space SU(2 ...

Computation of maximal projection constants [PDF]
The linear projection constant $Π(E)$ of a finite-dimensional real Banach space $E$ is the smallest number $C\in [0,+\infty)$ such that $E$ is a $C$-absolute retract in the category of real Banach spaces with bounded linear maps. We denote by $Π_n$ the maximal linear projection constant amongst $n$-dimensional Banach spaces.

On projection constant problems and the existence of metric projections in normed spaces
We give the sufficient conditions for the existence of a metric projection onto convex closed subsets of normed linear spaces which are reduced conditions than that in the case of reflexive Banach spaces and we find a general formula for the projections ...

Level of adaptability of five conic map projection variants on Macedonian national area as state map projection [PDF]
Nowadays a large number of cartographic projections are used for many purposes; some of them are utilized as cartographic state projections. In the Republic of Macedonia the Gauss-Krüger projection is in use as official state cartographic projection ...

In this paper, we introduce two iterative algorithms for finding the solution of the sum of two monotone operators by using hybrid projection methods and shrinking projection methods.
