Maximal orders over regular local rings [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1971
In this paper various sufficient conditions are given for the maximality of an R-order in a finite-dimensional central simple K-algebra, where R is a regular local ring whose quotient field is K. Stronger results are obtained when we assume the dimension of R to be three. This work depends upon earlier results of this author [5] for regular local rings

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Maximal regularity for non-autonomous Cauchy problems in weighted spaces

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2020
We consider the regularity for the non-autonomous Cauchy problem $$ u'(t) + A(t) u(t) = f(t)\quad (t \in [0, \tau]), \quad u(0) = u_0. $$ The time dependent operator A(t) is associated with (time dependent) sesquilinear forms on a Hilbert space ...

PARP inhibitors elicit distinct transcriptional programs in homologous recombination competent castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Regularity of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator on block decreasing functions

open access: yes, 2009
We study the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator defined via an unconditional norm, acting on block decreasing functions. We show that the uncentered maximal operator maps block decreasing functions of special bounded variation to functions with integrable

J. L. Lions’ problem on maximal regularity [PDF]

open access: yesArchiv der Mathematik, 2017
This is a survey on recent progress concerning maximal regularity of non-autonomous equations governed by time-dependent forms on a Hilbert space. It also contains two new results showing the limits of the theory.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Fractional Maximal Functions in Metric Measure Spaces

open access: yesAnalysis and Geometry in Metric Spaces, 2013
We study the mapping properties of fractional maximal operators in Sobolev and Campanato spaces in metric measure spaces. We show that, under certain restrictions on the underlying metric measure space, fractional maximal operators improve the Sobolev ...

Nonlinear and oblique boundary value problems for the Stokes equations

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Qualitative Theory of Differential Equations, 2011
In this paper we consider the nonlinear boundary value problem governed by a stationary perturbed Stokes system with mixed boundary conditions (Dirichlet- maximal monotone graph), in a smooth domain.

Closedness type regularity conditions for surjectivity results involving the sum of two maximal monotone operators

open access: yes, 2010
In this note we provide regularity conditions of closedness type which guarantee some surjectivity results concerning the sum of two maximal monotone operators by using representative functions.
