Regularity of maximal functions and operator semigroups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
This work is about regularity properties of maximal functions. The first part of the project is dedicated to the study of the fundamental aspects of the Hardy-Littlewood maximal function and, additionally, when the boundedness is preserved if we ...

Time Fractional Derivatives and Evolution Equations

open access: yesBruno Pini Mathematical Analysis Seminar, 2017
In this seminar we introduce the fractional derivatives of Riemann-Liouville and Caputo, with some of their main properties. We conclude by illustrating certain results of maximal regularity for mixed initial-boundary value problems, evolving them.

Regularity for commutators of the local multilinear fractional maximal operators

open access: yesAdvances in Nonlinear Analysis, 2020
In this paper we introduce and study the commutators of the local multilinear fractional maximal operators and a vector-valued function b⃗ = (b1, …, bm). Under the condition that each bi belongs to the first order Sobolev spaces, the bounds for the above

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Maximal Graphs and Spacelike Mean Curvature Flows in Semi-Euclidean Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Two main results are proved. The first is for the maximal graph system in semi-Euclidean spaces. Existence of smooth solutions to the Dirichlet problem is proved, under certain assumptions on the boundary data.

Endpoint regularity of maximal functions in higher dimensions

open access: yes, 2022
It is well known that the Hardy-Littlewood maximal operator is bounded on Lebesgue spaces if the exponent is strictly larger than one, and that this bound fails when the Lebesgue exponent is equal to one.

Global Solvability of Compressible–Incompressible Two-Phase Flows with Phase Transitions in Bounded Domains

open access: yesMathematics, 2021
Consider a free boundary problem of compressible-incompressible two-phase flows with surface tension and phase transition in bounded domains Ωt+,Ωt−⊂RN, N≥2, where the domains are separated by a sharp compact interface Γt⊂RN−1.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Maximal Lp-Regularity of Deterministic and Stochastic PDEs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This thesis aims to explain and prove Theorem 1.1 from the paper 'Stochastic Maximal Lp- Regularity' by Jan van Neerven, Mark Veraar and Lutz Weis [43].

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
