Optimization of Experimental Conditions for Determination of Surface Tension of Solution by the Maximum Bubble Pressure Method [PDF]

open access: yesDaxue Huaxue, 2020
: The maximum bubble pressure method is a classical method to determine the surface tension of solution in physical chemistry laboratory. Due to the influence of various factors, the results from students have large standard deviation.

Determination of Surface Parameters of Tween-80 and Cross-Sectional Area of Hydrophilic Molecules by Maximum Bubble Pressure Method [PDF]

open access: yesUniversity Chemistry, 2020
The surface adsorption isotherm behavior of the non-ionic surfactant Tween-80 at 25 °C was measured by the upgraded maximum bubble device. The critical micelle concentration (CMC) and the cross-sectional area of the hydrophilic group of Tween-80 was ...

Bubble-Growth for Wetting and Nonwetting System in the Maximum Bubble Pressure Method

open access: yesMATERIALS TRANSACTIONS, 2001
This paper describes a new measuring apparatus for the maximum bubble pressure method to confirm the pressure change pattern during bubble formation for wetting and nonwetting systems. Generally speaking, a sawtooth pressure pattern has been widely, accepted by many researchers in the maximum bubble pressure method.

Surface Tension of Baked Food Batter Measured by the Maximum Bubble Pressure Method [PDF]

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1991
The surface tension (σ) of batter prepared with one or two of the major ingredients of wheat flour, egg and sucrose was measured by the maximum bubble pressure method. The surface tension of the soft- and hard-wheat flour suspension decreased as the solid content of wheat flour was increased, finally reaching 48.2 and 52.7 dyn/cm, respectively.

Measurement of Temperature Dependence of Surface Tension of Alcohol Aqueous Solutions by Maximum Bubble Pressure Method

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2009
The surface tension of some high-carbon alcohol aqueous solutions increases as the temperature rises above a certain temperature. There have been attempts to use such special solutions in thermal devices to promote heat transfer. In this study, the authors analyzed the temperature dependence of surface tension of these solutions to investigate this ...

Critical Assessment of the Surface Tension determined by the Maximum Pressure Bubble Method [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2015
The main factors that influence the value of surface tension of a liquid measured with the Maximum Pressure Bubble Method are critically evaluated. We present experimental results showing the effect of capillary diameter, capillary depth, bubble spheroidicity and liquid density at room temperature.

Bubble-Growth for a Wetting System in the Maximum Bubble Pressure Method

open access: yesMaterials Transactions, JIM, 1999
This paper describes a new measuring apparatus for the maximum bubble pressure method to confirm the pressure change pattern during bubble formation for a wetting system. Generally speaking, a sawtooth pressure pattern has been widely accepted by many researchers.

Density, Surface Tension, and Viscosity of Liquid Low‐Sulfur Manganese–Boron Steel via Maximum Bubble Pressure and Oscillating Crucible Methods

open access: yesSteel Research International
In this study, the thermophysical properties of low‐sulfur manganese–boron steel with varying boron and sulfur contents at different temperatures are investigated. Density and surface tension are measured between 1550 and 1650 °C using the maximum bubble
