A NONPARAMETRIC SIMULATED MAXIMUM LIKELIHOOD ESTIMATION METHOD [PDF]
Summary: Existing simulation-based estimation methods are either general purpose but asymptotically inefficient or asymptotically efficient but only suitable for restricted classes of models. This paper studies a simulated maximum likelihood method that rests on estimating the likelihood nonparametrically on a simulated sample.

ABSTRACT Background Kaposiform lymphangiomatosis (KLA) is an aggressive complex lymphatic anomaly. Patients exhibit malformed lymphatic vessels and often develop hemorrhagic effusions and elevated angiopoietin‐2 (Ang‐2) levels. A somatic NRAS p.Q61R (NRASQ61R) mutation has been associated with KLA.

Implementing and evaluating the nested maximum likelihood estimation technique [PDF]
Estimating parameters describing response time distributions is difficult. The most commonly used method for parameter estimation is the maximum likelihood method (ML).

ABSTRACT Background The management of clinically apparent single lesions or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis, a facultative precursor of nephroblastoma, remains debated. Methods We retrospectively analyzed 37 patients with clinically apparent single or oligofocal nephroblastomatosis (two to three lesions per kidney) among 2347 patients registered between

Medical Malpractice Litigation Under National Health Insurance: Essential or Expendable? [PDF]
Identification of time-continuous models from sampled data is a long standing topic of discussion, and many approaches have been suggested. The Maximum Likelihood method is asymptotically and theoretically superior to other methods.

Dietary Protein Intake and Peritoneal Protein Losses in Peritoneal Dialysis Patients
ABSTRACT Introduction Peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients lose protein in their waste dialysate, potentially increasing their risk for malnutrition. We wished to determine whether there was any association between losses and dietary protein intake (DPI). Methods DPI was assessed from 24‐h dietary recall using Nutrics software.

By this research we will deal with the Generalized Goel- okumoto model parameters, since this model contains three parameters (α, β, ), that represents the time-rate function of the heterogeneous Poisson's processes, the parameters of this model will be ...

Computer program calculates monotonic maximum likelihood estimates using method of reversals [PDF]
FORTRAN 2 computer program calculates maximum estimates of a monotonic non-decreasing response function. The program uses the method of reversals algorithm which applies to the analysis of univariate or multivariate sensitivity ...
