Operational Characteristics Of Maximum Score Estimation

1985
This paper reports on the operational characteristics of maximum score estimation of a linear model from binary response data. A series of previous articles have shown that in theory, the maximum score method makes possible binary response analysis under very weak distributional assumptions.

Multi-Well Operational Optimization for Maximum Production

All Days, 2005
Abstract A typical oil and gas surface production scheme consists of gathering systems where individual wells are connected en route to a common separator. These wells are invariably at differing distances and may also be connected with different size pipelines and other pressure-reducing devices.

Strong Maximum Principles for Time Degenerate Parabolic Operators

SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 1974
We study the degenerate parabolic operator $Lu = \sum\nolimits_{i,j = 1}^n {a^{ij} u_{x_i x_j } } + \sum\nolimits_{i = 1}^n {b^i u_{x_i } - cu_t + du} $, where $u,a^{ij} ,b^i ,c,d$ are bounded, real-valued functions defined on a bounded domain $D \subset R^{n + 1} $. Assume that L is parabolic.

Boundary Operators and Boundary Maximum Principles

2020
Let D be a bounded domain of Euclidean space RN, with smooth boundary ∂D; its closure \(\overline {D} = D \cup {\partial D}\) is an N-dimensional, compact smooth manifold with boundary (see Figure 11.1 below). In this chapter, following Bony–Courrege–Priouret ( [15, Chapter II]) we characterize Ventcel’–Levy boundary operators T (Theorem 11.3) and ...

Elliptic Waldenfels Operators and Maximum Principles

2020
Part IV (Chapters 10 and 11) is devoted to the general study of the maximum principles for second-order, elliptic Waldenfels operators in terms of pseudo-differential operators.

Maximum and anti-maximum principles for some systems involving Schrödinger operators

1999
We recall here some recent results on maximum and anti-maximum principles for some elliptic problems. Moreover, we give some new forms of extended maximum principle for elliptic systems involving Schrodinger operators − Δ + q(x)• defined in the entire space ℝ N , with the potential q tending to +∞ at infinity.

Maximum area triangle operator for edge detection

Journal of Electronic Imaging, 1997
Currently images are more often noisy than regular, and universal contour extraction operators are few. The purely discrete operators are rather crude and inaccurate, while the more precise operators, which relying on the continuous approach, are complicated and rather slow.
