We report on the diode-pumped continuous-wave laser operation of a c-cut Nd:YAlO 3 (YAP) laser crystal at various low gain emission wavelengths around 1.1 μm by using a simple and compact linear cavity and a glass etalon. Inserting and tilting the

A kernel for time series based on global alignments [PDF]
We propose in this paper a new family of kernels to handle times series, notably speech data, within the framework of kernel methods which includes popular algorithms such as the Support Vector Machine.

Direct Algorithm for Bernstein Enclosure Boundary of Polynomials
Multivariate polynomials of finite degree can be expanded into Bernstein form over a given simplex domain. The minimum and maximum Bernstein control points optimize the polynomial curve over the same domain.

A maximum problem for operators [PDF]
The article under review is a survey devoted to the following extremum problem. Let p be a polynomial, H be an n-dimensional Hilbert space. The problem is to maximize \(\| T^ n\|\) (or more generally to maximize \(\|\phi (T)\|\) for a given polynomial \(\phi)\), T being a contraction on H annihilated by p. Connections with the Sz.-Nagy- Foiaş model and

Graphs with Unique Maximum Packing of Closed Neighborhoods
A packing of a graph G is a subset P of the vertex set of G such that the closed neighborhoods of any two distinct vertices of P do not intersect. We study graphs with a unique packing of the maximum cardinality. We present several general properties for

Operational characteristics of maximum score estimation [PDF]
Abstract This paper reports on the operational characteristics of maximum score estimation of a linear model from binary response data. A series of previous articles have shown that in theory the maximum score method makes possible binary response analysis under very weak distributional assumptions.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
