Analysis of a Classical Matrix Preconditioning Algorithm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We study a classical iterative algorithm for balancing matrices in the $L_\infty$ norm via a scaling transformation. This algorithm, which goes back to Osborne and Parlett \& Reinsch in the 1960s, is implemented as a standard preconditioner in many ...

On maximum principles for M-operators

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 2003
The author extends the notion of \(M\)-matrices (and some results) to certain ordered normed vector spaces and proves abstract maximum principles.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Privacy-preserving maximum value determination scheme

open access: yesFrontiers in Physics
This paper introduces a quantum-secure scheme for conducting privacy-preserving maximum value determination, allowing the parties to ascertain the highest value from their confidential inputs while keeping non-maximum data private.

Do bosons obey Bose-Einstein distribution: two iterated limits of Gentile distribution

open access: yes, 2009
It is a common impression that by only setting the maximum occupation number to infinity, which is the demand of the indistinguishability of bosons, one can achieve the statistical distribution that bosons obey -- the Bose-Einstein distribution.

General homomorphic overloading [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A general homomorphic overloading in a first-order type system is discussed and its attendant subtype inference problem is formulated. We propose a computationally efficient type inference algorithm by converting the attendant constraint-satisfaction ...

Fast erasure decoder for hypergraph product codes [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum
We propose a decoder for the correction of erasures with hypergraph product codes, which form one of the most popular families of quantum LDPC codes.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Research and design of dual-field programmable length-scalable modular multiplier and adder

open access: yesDianzi Jishu Yingyong, 2018
Modular multiplication, addition and subtraction are frequently used in ECC as the key operations. It has been an research hotspot that how to implement modular operations high-effciently and low-costly.
