Bayesian optimization for maximum power point tracking in photovoltaic power plants
2016 European Control Conference (ECC), 2016The amount of power that a photovoltaic (PV) power plant generates depends on the DC voltage that is applied to the PV panels. The relationship between this control input and the generated power is non-convex and has multiple local maxima. Moreover, since the generated power depends on time-varying environmental conditions, such as solar irradiation ...

Maximum power point tracking algorithm for wind power conversion system
Proceedings of the 11th IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control, 2014Wind energy is increasingly attracting the world's attention because of it is a renewable energy cleanly and inexhaustibly. How to improve the stability and efficiency of the wind power conversion system is particularly important. A maximum power point tracking algorithm is proposed based on the experiment data: the open-jet & return-flow wind tunnel ...

The PSO Based Global Maximum Power Point Tracker
2019 11th International Conference on Electronics, Computers and Artificial Intelligence (ECAI), 2019The power produced by photovoltaic (PV) module is directly dependent on solar irradiance. The partial shading occurs when PV modules in the PV array have different solar irradiance levels. This can significantly reduce the output power of the PV array.

Maximum Power Point Control Approach for Wind Generators
2015This paper presents an efficient control approach for wind generators operating in variable wind conditions, based on measurements determined in the unload regime. This requires the permanent control of wind turbine speed and torque combined with the generator load adaptation.

An interleaved converter with maximum power point tracking
2017 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Instrumentation and Control Technologies (ICICICT), 2017This paper, discusses a non isolated boost converter with high step up gain with an MPPT controller. The converter is meant to be used as an interface between photovoltaic panels and the utility grid. The solar panel or array without an MPPT results in wasted power and number of solar panel needed to be installed increases.

A maximum power point control photovoltaic system
18th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, MED'10, 2010A maximum power point tracking control (MPPT) is used for a photovoltaic (PV) system in order to maximize the output power irrespective of the temperature and irradiation conditions and of the load electrical characteristics. In this paper, we consider a photovoltaic panel supplying a battery. For maximizing its output power, we have used a boost DC/DC

Maximum power point tracking for photovoltaic systems
2013 IEEE Grenoble Conference, 2013The novel principle of power maximizing of solar battery (MPPT) is proposed. The proposed system based on use of two low-power sample solar panels with the special controlled current source. These sample solar panels are located in close proximity to the main battery, and thus their electrical characteristics identical to those of the main one.

Maximum power point tracker for a photovoltaic system
2012 International Conference on Computing, Electronics and Electrical Technologies (ICCEET), 2012The need for renewable energy sources is on the rise because of the acute energy crisis in the world today. The main hindrance for the penetration and reach of solar PV system is its low efficiency and high capital cost. The output characteristics of photovoltaic arrays are nonlinear and change with the cell's temperature and solar radiation.
