Thermoelectric power generation with maximum power point tracking

8th International Conference on Advances in Power System Control, Operation and Management (APSCOM 2009), 2009
With ever-increasing demand on energy conservation, there is fast growing interest in the development of clean energy technologies, like the thermoelectric power generation (TPG). Due to the special output characteristics of the thermoelectric power generator, the power conditioning circuit and its maximum power point tracking (MPPT) are needed.

History of Maximum Power Point Tracking

2019
With time, the conventional fossil fuels for generating electric loads are depleted, so efforts are made to harness PV solar energy to serve the continuously increasing electric loads. The energy conversion efficiency of PV modules is very low, while they are expensive in price.

Robust fuzzy controller for photovoltaic maximum power point tracking

21st Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, 2013
In this paper, the stability and robustness analyses of uncertain multivariable nonlinear control systems based on fuzzy logic approaches are presented. A system that comprises a Takagi-Sugeno (TS) fuzzy plant model and a fuzzy controller connected in closed-loop is first considered and second establishing fuzzy state observers.

Maximum power point tracking for photovoltaic systems

2013 IEEE Grenoble Conference, 2013
The novel principle of power maximizing of solar battery (MPPT) is proposed. The proposed system based on use of two low-power sample solar panels with the special controlled current source. These sample solar panels are located in close proximity to the main battery, and thus their electrical characteristics identical to those of the main one.

An interleaved converter with maximum power point tracking

2017 International Conference on Intelligent Computing, Instrumentation and Control Technologies (ICICICT), 2017
This paper, discusses a non isolated boost converter with high step up gain with an MPPT controller. The converter is meant to be used as an interface between photovoltaic panels and the utility grid. The solar panel or array without an MPPT results in wasted power and number of solar panel needed to be installed increases.

Maximum Power Point Tracking Techniques

2016
An essential objective for many photovoltaic (PV) applications is represented by the so‐called maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Under uniform irradiance and ambient temperature conditions, the power versus voltage characteristic of a PV array is characterized by the presence of a unique point, termed maximum power point (MPP), where the power ...

A new maximum power point tracking system

Proceedings of IEEE Power Electronics Specialist Conference - PESC '93, 2002
In power systems involving a load, a battery and a solar array, MPPT (maximum power point tracking) is a promising principle to extract the maximum amount of energy from the solar array and distribute it to the battery and loads. A digital hill-climbing control strategy combined with a bidirectional current mode power cell is presented that makes it ...

Maximum Power Point Tracking for Photovoltaic Systems

2018 International Conference On Advances in Communication and Computing Technology (ICACCT), 2018
Photovoltaic system works with highest efficiency at an operating point of maximum power on power-voltage (P-V) and current-voltage (I-V) curve. But any mismatch in a photovoltaic array leads to differences in the I-V characteristics of the PV modules. It can lead to significant energy losses known as mismatch losses.

An Improved Maximum Power Point Tracking Method

Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013
A duty ratio perturbation based on improved genetic algorithm is proposed in this paper. It can overcome some shortcomings of traditional MPPT method, and can perfectly achieve a real-time adjustment for maximum power output. A simulation model is established on Matlab, feasibility and validity of the method is verified.

A maximum power point fast-tracking system

2014 11th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology (ECTI-CON), 2014
This article refers to the maximum power point tracking system. With a few minor improvements based on the “Perturb and Observe” (P&O) algorithm, the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) system operates in higher reliability, especially in case of external radiation rapid decrease or abrupt redirection.
