A battery-less, self-sustaining RF energy harvesting circuit with TFETs for µW power applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This paper proposes a Tunnel FET (TFET) power management circuit for RF energy harvesting applications. In contrast with conventional MOSFET technologies, the improved electrical characteristics of TFETs promise a better behavior in the process of ...

Dynamic impedance compensation for wireless power transfer using conjugate power

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
Wireless power transfer (WPT) via coupled magnetic resonances has been in development for over a decade. However, the frequency splitting phenomenon occurs in the over-coupled region.

Wireless Power Transfer between Two Self-Resonant Coils over Medium Distance Supporting Optimal Impedance Matching Using Ferrite Core Transformers

open access: yesEnergies, 2021
An efficient wireless power transfer (WPT) system is proposed using two self-resonant coils with a high-quality factor (Q-factor) over medium distance via an adaptive impedance matching network using ferrite core transformers.

Optimizing piezoelectric transformer for maximum power transfer [PDF]

open access: yesSmart Materials and Structures, 2003
The piezoelectric transformer should be considered as not only a mechanical system but also an electrical fully coupled system, which uses finite structure resonance to perform voltage conversion. The traditional piezoelectric transformer uses an equivalent circuit concept to simulate its mechanical motion.

Self-reconfiguring solar cell system [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
A self-reconfiguring solar cell array is disclosed wherein some of the cells are switched so that they can be either in series or in shunt within the array.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A CONTACTLESS POWER STATION FOR CELLULAR BATTERY CHARGER [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
A Contactless Power Station (CLPS) is a new breakthrough to transmit power without wires in electronic devices such as cellular phones. Power transfer capability of a CPLS system can be increased if the system is designed to operate under resonance ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Design of Asymmetrical Relay Resonators for Maximum Efficiency of Wireless Power Transfer

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2016
This paper presents a new design method of asymmetrical relay resonators for maximum wireless power transfer. A new design method for relay resonators is demanded because maximum power transfer efficiency (PTE) is not obtained at the resonant frequency ...
