Information driven current in a quantum Maxwell demon

open access: yes, 2013
We describe a minimal model of a quantum Maxwell demon obeying Hamiltonian dynamics. The model is solved exactly, and we analyze its steady-state behavior.

Surface Diffusion in SnTe‐PbTe Monolayer Lateral Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The lateral heterostructures between 2D materials often suffer from the interdiffusion at the interfaces. Here, a surface diffusion mechanism is found to be dominating at the interfaces between semiconducting SnTe and PbTe monolayers. Atomically sharp interfaces can be achieved by suppressing this diffusion process. ABSTRACT The construction of complex

Measuring intellectual capital and ways to make organizational change: A case study of Maxwell model [PDF]

open access: yesManagement Science Letters, 2013
In this paper, we present an empirical investigation to measure the effects of intellectual capital using Maxwell model [Maxwell, J. C. (2003). Thinking for a change: 11 ways highly successful people approach life and work. Faith Words].

Models of nonlinear kinematic hardening based on different versions of rate-independent maxwell fluid [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Different models of finite strain plasticity with a nonlinear kinematic hardening are analyzed in a systematic way. All the models are based on a certain formulation of a rate-independent Maxwell fluid, which is used to render the evolution of backstresses.

Gravity is controlled by cosmological constant

open access: yes, 2005
We discuss a Randall-Sundrum-type two D-braneworld model in which D-branes possess different values of the tensions from those of the charges, and derive an effective gravitational equation on the branes.

Domain Wall Rebounds Driven by Competing Entropic and Spin‐Transfer Torques in Cylindrical Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Domain‐wall motion in cylindrical magnetic nanowires driven by nanosecond current pulses. Low current densities efficiently displace domain walls, whereas higher currents cause rebound at the wire ends. The effect results from the interplay between spin‐transfer torque and thermally induced processes, highlighting the role of thermal gradients in ...

Simple model for Maxwell’s-demon-type information engine [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review E, 1996
We have investigated the recently proposed self-consistent theory of fluctuation - induced transport. In this framework the subsystem under study is coupled to two independent baths at different temperatures. In this non-equilibrium system one can extract energy at the expense of increased entropy.

Exciton‐Polaritons in Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks: A Platform for the Reversible Modulation of Strong Light‐Matter Coupling via the Chemical Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Strong exciton‐photon coupling is achieved by integrating porphyrin ligand‐based MOF nanoparticles in optical cavities, as evidenced by pronounced polariton branch anticrossing. The porous nature of the resonator enables precise, reversible tuning via vapor pressure, unlocking unprecedented chemical‐environment controlled dynamic polaritonic platforms ...
