Desmids of the transitional bogs of the Middle Mazowsze Lowland

The author presents the results of the studies of several years on the desmid flora of nine transitional bogs located in the environs of Warsaw. 226 taxa were found belonging to 20 gen era. Moreover, 16 taxa of the <em>Mesotaeniaceae</em> family, representing 4 genera were identified.
