CDMA Transmission with Complex OFDM/OQAM

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2007
We propose an alternative to the well-known multicarrier code-division multiple access (MC-CDMA) technique for downlink transmission by replacing the conventional cyclic-prefix orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) modulation by an advanced ...

Self‐Assembly Pathway Influence on Dehydropeptide‐Based Gel Properties and Drug Release

open access: yesMacromolecular Bioscience, Volume 25, Issue 9, September 2025.
In this work, it is explored how the gelation conditions affect the morphology, mechanical properties, and drug release of dehydropeptide‐based gels. The naphthalene‐capped dehydropeptide forms a crystal structure with a pore diameter of ≈4.08 Å. Gelation conditions can influence gel stiffness by nearly three orders of magnitude, in which the assembly ...

Enabling Dynamic Spectrum Access using SS-MC-CDMA [PDF]

open access: yes2007 2nd International Conference on Cognitive Radio Oriented Wireless Networks and Communications, 2007
The demand for frequency spectrum and diversity of wireless devices accessing this spectrum depends upon the time of day, the characteristics of a frequency band, and the geographical location of the observer/wireless device. This paper highlights the value of employing a novel dynamic spectrum access technology using a highly reconfigurable spectrum ...

Surface Energy and Morphology of Blend Films of Polystyrene and Polybutadiene

open access: yesMacromolecular Chemistry and Physics, Volume 226, Issue 17, September 5, 2025.
Blends of polystyrene and polybutadiene are highly immiscible and, when cast as films, give rise to many different structures. In this work, different experimental techniques realize the complexity of these films. Given the industrial importance of polystyrene and polybutadiene, understanding morphology is important.

Zero-Forcing and Minimum Mean-Square Error Multiuser Detection in Generalized Multicarrier DS-CDMA Systems for Cognitive Radio

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2008
In wireless communications, multicarrier direct-sequence code-division multiple access (MC DS-CDMA) constitutes one of the highly flexible multiple access schemes. MC DS-CDMA employs a high number of degrees-of-freedom, which are beneficial to design and

Rotated Walsh-Hadamard Spreading with Robust Channel Estimation for a Coded MC-CDMA System

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2004
We investigate rotated Walsh-Hadamard spreading matrices for a broadband MC-CDMA system with robust channel estimation in the synchronous downlink. The similarities between rotated spreading and signal space diversity are outlined. In a multiuser MC-CDMA

Multi-code Multicarrier CDMA: Performance Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Communications Software and Systems, 2006
A new multi-code multicarrier code division multiple access (MC-MC-CDMA) system is proposed and analyzed in afrequency selective fading channel. By allowing each user to transmit an M-ary code sequence, the proposed MC-MC-CDMA system can support various ...

Equivalence of Linear MMSE Detection in DS-CDMA and MC-CDMA Systems over Time and Frequency Selective Channels

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2003
The goal of this paper is to compare the performance of the linear minimum mean square error (MMSE) detector for a class of code division multiple access (CDMA) systems in time and frequency selective channels. Specifically, we consider direct sequence (

Impact of magnetic fields from tablets, laptops, smartphones, and household/leisure magnets on cardiac implantable electronic devices

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 4, August 2025.
This study on 13 Cardiac implantable electronic device (CIED) models revealed that surface magnetic fields of tablets, laptops, smartphones, and household magnets exceeded 10 G, potentially triggering magnet response mode. Activation occurred at ≤15 mm for electronic devices and ≤7 mm for household magnets.
