The crystal structure of mycothiol disulfide reductase (Mtr) provides mechanistic insight into the specific low‐molecular‐weight thiol reductase activity of Actinobacteria

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section D, Volume 80, Issue 3, Page 181-193, March 2024.
The crystal structure of mycothiol disulfide reductase (Mtr) was determined for the first time. The structure shows a highly conserved and enlarged substrate‐binding pocket, providing insight into the substrate‐binding mode and specificity of Mtrs.Low‐molecular‐weight (LMW) thiols are involved in many processes in all organisms, playing a protective ...

Systematic investigation of the influence of suspended particles on UV‐C inactivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae in liquid food systems

open access: yesJournal of Food Process Engineering, Volume 47, Issue 1, January 2024.
In this study, the effect of non‐soluble particles on the inactivation of Saccharomyces cerevisiae in a model solution is investigated. The size and optical properties of the particles cause various scattering phenomena. The inactivation deteriorates in the area of Mie scattering.

Dosimetry analysis of homemade bolus using propylene glycol for photon MegaVoltage and electron radiation therapy

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2019
Bolus is widely used to protect and reduce irradiation in organ at risk in the process of radiotherapy. Generally, the bolus was made from polymer material due to had property is similar or equivalent to tissue. This study aimed to determine the density,

Self-modulated laser wakefield accelerators as x-ray sources [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The development of a directional, small-divergence, and short-duration picosecond x-ray probe beam with an energy greater than 50 keV is desirable for high energy density science experiments.

Electron contamination for 6 MV photon beams from an Elekta linac: Monte Carlo simulation

open access: yes, 2020
This study investigates electron contamination for 6 MV photon beams from an Elekta linear accelerator (linac) using Monte Carlo simulation. The linac head was simulated by the BEAMnrc code and the absorbed dose in a phantom was calculated using the ...

Physical characteristics of photon and electron beams from a radiotherapy accelerator

open access: yes, 2016
Introduction: Radiotherapy uses high-energy radiation to shrink tumors and kill cancer cells.  The radiation may be delivered by a machine outside the body (external-beam radiation therapy), or it may come from radioactive material placed in the body ...
