Comparison of Allergic Rhinitis Treatments on Utilities and Quality of Life: A MASK‐air Study

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Allergy, EarlyView.
This mHealth study has shown that fixed combinations of intranasal antihistamines and corticosteroids were associated with higher quality of life than oral antihistamines and intranasal antihistamines. Both intranasal corticosteroids and oral antihistamines were associated with higher quality of life than intranasal antihistamines.

MCM-41 as Nanofiller in Polyethylene Hybrid Materials [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Mesoporous MCM-41 exhibits a stable framework structure, well-defined nanopores and a large surface area. When combined with metallocene polymerisation catalyst, these mesoporous materials, provide a unique route for preparing polyolefin-based ...

Compromised DNA replication in gut cells underlies sensitivity to genotoxic stress in the tardigrade Hypsibius exemplaris

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
DNA damage in the tardigrade Hypsibius exemplaris elicits distinct cellular outcomes depending on replication status. While non‐replicating cells tolerate genotoxic stress, constitutively replicating cells undergo irreversible replication failure upon DNA damage, leading to loss of tissue homeostasis, fat depletion, sterility, and organismal death ...

Hodgkin and non‐Hodgkin lymphomas in the post‐antiretroviral therapy era according to HIV virological suppression

open access: yesHIV Medicine, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives Lymphomas remain among the most frequent HIV‐associated malignancies, with risk persisting despite effective virological control. This study describes the clinical, epidemiological and prognostic characteristics of lymphomas (both Hodgkin [HL] and non‐Hodgkin [NHL]) in people living with HIV (PLWH), according to virological ...

The Role of the Hyoid Bone in Obstructive Sleep Apnea Severity: A Systematic Review

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) has numerous complications that negatively impact patients' quality of life. Early diagnosis can significantly reduce these complications. The aim of the study was to evaluate the relationship between the hyoid bone position and the severity of apnea, and to determine if hyoid‐related cephalometric variables can ...

Multiple Chains Markov Switching Vector Autoregression

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Both the U.S. stock and bond returns exhibit distinct Markovian regimes. However, because these regimes display limited coherence, conventional models typically require highly parameterized systems to adequately capture their joint distribution.

Joint Effects of Prenatal Antibiotics, Mode of Birth and Breastfeeding Duration on Childhood Infections: The Norwegian MoBa Cohort Study

open access: yesPaediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Prenatal antibiotic exposure and caesarean births are associated with an increased risk of hospitalised infection in children, but few studies have evaluated their impact on less severe infections and possible joint effects. Conversely, longer breastfeeding duration is protective against infections, but whether this effect varies ...
