Impact of Uncertain Parameters on Navier–Stokes Equations With Heat Transfer via Polynomial Chaos Expansion

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Fluids, Volume 98, Issue 5, Page 557-577, May 2026.
This study investigates the impact of uncertain parameters on Navier–Stokes equations coupled with heat transfer using the Intrusive Polynomial Chaos Method (IPCM). Sensitivity equations are formulated for key input parameters, such as viscosity and thermal diffusivity, and solved numerically using the Finite Element‐Volume method.

Family protective service involvement and reduced infant cortical grey matter volume

open access: yesInfant Mental Health Journal: Infancy and Early Childhood, Volume 47, Issue 3, May 2026.
Abstract Among older children, neglect is linked to reduced cortical grey matter volume, whereas abuse is linked to reduced right amygdala volume. Less is known about whether similar effects of adversity are evident in infancy, a period of particularly rapid brain growth.

Enhanced Delivery of Antimicrobial Peptide via Dual‐Functionalized Silica Nanoparticles Achieves Efficient Staphylococcus aureus Biofilm Eradication

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Materials Research Part B: Applied Biomaterials, Volume 114, Issue 5, May 2026.
Dual‐functionalized mesoporous silica nanoparticles enable targeted delivery and enhanced penetration of antimicrobial peptides into Staphylococcus aureus biofilms, resulting in efficient biofilm disruption and bacterial eradication. ABSTRACT Antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) present potential alternatives; nevertheless, their effectiveness is frequently ...

Self Dilution of Model Polystyrene Pom‐Poms and Combs by Unentangled Side Arms

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 9, 5 May 2026.
This study uses experimental rheological data of 4 model polystyrene pom‐poms and 2 model polystyrene combs, all with unentangled arms, and constitutive modelling using Enhanced Relaxation of Stretch (ERS) model to show that the elongational rheology of the branched polymers is equivalent to that of polymer melts consisting of long linear chains ...
