ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY STUDIES OF MESOPOROUS MCM-41, METAL INCORPORATED MCM-41, AND MCM-41 MATERIALS WITH ACID-FUNCTIONALIZATION

open access: yesRASAYAN Journal of Chemistry
The antimicrobial activity of the synthesized mesoporous materials was presented. The antibacterial activity was conducted against E.Coli and S. Aureus bacteria, whereas the antifungal activity was examined against Candida albicans, and Candida rugosa.

Scalable Laser Processing Enables Transparent, Accretion Scale‐Independent, Ice‐Shedding Glass

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a scalable laser‐based method to create wave‐like micro‐patterns on glass surfaces that counter the conventional view that roughness increases ice adhesion. These patterns direct crack propagation at the ice–glass interface, enabling low‐force, multi‐directional ice detachment while maintaining substrate transparency. A theoretical model

Catalytic performance of Co, Fe on MCM-41 synthesized from illite waste for gasification of torrefied cassava rhizome

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2021
The catalytic gasification of torrefied cassava rhizome (TCR) with metals (Co, Fe) on MCM-41 was studied throughout this work. The focus of this research is to synthesize, evaluate and analyze the performance of ordered mesoporous MCM-41 employing illite

Evaluation of pore structural stability of mesoporous titanium silicates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Therefore one of the purposes of the work presented here is to complement the stability features by studying the hydrothermal resistance of the Ti-MCM-41 materials prepared by the same procedure.

Role of Epoxide Functionalization of Amines for Development of Direct Air Capture Sorbents with High Cyclic Working Capacity at Low Desorption Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Appropriate butylene oxide (BO) functionalization of amines (polyethyleneimine (PEI1200 and PEI300) and tris(2‐aminoethyl)amine (TREN)) enables excellent cyclic working capacities (WCcyclic) at low desorption temperatures (40−70°C). Notably, 0.30BO‐PEI300‐SY and 0.54BO‐TREN‐SY show the highest WCcyclic at 45 and 40°C, respectively.

Ordered mesoporous silica materials for protein adsorption [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Lysozyme and BSA were used, as model proteins of considerably different dimensions, in order to evaluate the influence of the distinct pore structural characteristics of three types of ordered mesoporous silica materials (MCF, SBA-15 and MCM-41) on ...

Antibacterial and osteogenic activities of clindamycin-releasing mesoporous silica/carboxymethyl chitosan composite hydrogels

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2021
Conventional treatment of jaw bone infection is often ineffective at controlling bacterial infection and enhancing bone regeneration. Biodegradable composite hydrogels comprised of carboxymethyl chitosan (CMCS) and clindamycin (CDM)-loaded mesoporous ...

Enhanced adsorption and stability of aspirin molecules on magnetite a-Fe2O3/MCM-41 composites [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this work, magnetic mesoporous silica (a-Fe2O3/MCM-41) composites were prepared by incipient-wetness impregnation and direct hydrothermal methods, while their drug adsorption properties were investigated by using aspirin as the model of the drug.

Lysine-Grafted MCM-41 Silica as An Antibacterial Biomaterial [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
: A facile strategy for zwitterionization of bioceramics based on direct incorporation of L-lysine amino acid via the ε-amino group onto mesoporous MCM-41 materials is proposed.

NFYB Integrates Hormonal Signals into Tissue Allometry by Promoting Protein Biosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the American cockroach, NFYB acts as a spatiotemporin that translates distinct hormonal cues into tissue‐specific allometry. Juvenile hormone activates NFYB in the early fat body, while 20‐hydroxyecdysone induces it in late wing pads. NFYB then promotes protein biosynthesis via core translational machinery, driving differential growth across the ...
