Model Probit Spasial pada Faktor-Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Klasifikasi IPM di Pulau Jawa

open access: yesCauchy: Jurnal Matematika Murni dan Aplikasi, 2013
Human pembagunan Index (HDI) is a composite index that includes three basic dimensions of human development is considered to reflect the status of the population's basic abilities of health, educational attainment, and purchasing power.

MCMC Using Hamiltonian Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Hamiltonian dynamics can be used to produce distant proposals for the Metropolis algorithm, thereby avoiding the slow exploration of the state space that results from the diffusive behaviour of simple random-walk proposals. Though originating in physics, Hamiltonian dynamics can be applied to most problems with continuous state spaces by simply ...

Augmentation schemes for particle MCMC [PDF]

open access: yesStatistics and Computing, 2015
Particle MCMC involves using a particle filter within an MCMC algorithm. For inference of a model which involves an unobserved stochastic process, the standard implementation uses the particle filter to propose new values for the stochastic process, and MCMC moves to propose new values for the parameters.

Efficacy of Lebrikizumab in Patients With Severe Atopic Dermatitis Who Would be Eligible for Treatment Based on the South Korean Reimbursement Criteria

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Lebrikizumab is approved to treat patients with moderate‐to‐severe atopic dermatitis (AD). Objectives This study evaluated the 16‐week efficacy outcomes of lebrikizumab in adults and adolescents with severe AD in ADvocate trials who would be eligible for treatment based on South Korean reimbursement‐like criteria. Methods This was a

Application of Markov chain Monte Carlo and machine learning for identifying active modules in biological graphs

open access: yesНаучно-технический вестник информационных технологий, механики и оптики
In biology, information about interactions between the proteins or genes under study can be represented as a biological graph. A connected subgraph, whose vertices perform a common biological function, is called an active module.

Bayesian state-space models with multiple CPUE data: the case of a mullet fishery

open access: yesScientia Marina, 2017
We propose a novel Bayesian hierarchical structure of state-space surplus production models that accommodate multiple catch per unit effort (CPUE) data of various fisheries exploiting the same stock.

MCMC METHODS FOR DIFFUSION BRIDGES [PDF]

open access: yesStochastics and Dynamics, 2008
We present and study a Langevin MCMC approach for sampling nonlinear diffusion bridges. The method is based on recent theory concerning stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) reversible with respect to the target bridge, derived by applying the Langevin idea on the bridge pathspace.

A Short Version of Carers' Quality of Life Questionnaire for Parkinsonism: Data from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Network

open access: yesMovement Disorders Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and objectives Caregivers of progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) patients frequently show significant distress. The Parkinsonism Carers quality of life (QoL) (PQoL Carer) is a valid tool evaluating the effect of PSP on caregivers' QoL.

Simple reparameterization to improve convergence in linear mixed models

open access: yesActa Agriculturae Slovenica, 2010
Slow convergence and mixing are one of the main problems of Markov chain Monte Carlo (McMC) algorithms applied to mixed models in animal breeding. Poor convergence is to a large extent caused by high posterior correlation between variance components and ...

Extending the hyper‐logistic model to the random setting: New theoretical results with real‐world applications

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
We develop a full randomization of the classical hyper‐logistic growth model by obtaining closed‐form expressions for relevant quantities of interest, such as the first probability density function of its solution, the time until a given fixed population is reached, and the population at the inflection point.
