Augmentation schemes for particle MCMC [PDF]
Particle MCMC involves using a particle filter within an MCMC algorithm. For inference of a model which involves an unobserved stochastic process, the standard implementation uses the particle filter to propose new values for the stochastic process, and MCMC moves to propose new values for the parameters.

ABSTRACT Background Intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) analysis of diffusion‐weighted MRI (DWI) provides microvascular perfusion and diffusion information. However, parameter estimation is limited by noise sensitivity, variability across fitting methods, and lack of standardization.

MCMC METHODS FOR DIFFUSION BRIDGES [PDF]
We present and study a Langevin MCMC approach for sampling nonlinear diffusion bridges. The method is based on recent theory concerning stochastic partial differential equations (SPDEs) reversible with respect to the target bridge, derived by applying the Langevin idea on the bridge pathspace.

Embracing Creative Nonconformists and Promoting Them May Require Leaders' High Control Appraisals
ABSTRACT Promoting creative employees is essential to innovation and organizational success. However, leaders do not always embrace the nonconformist nature of creative behaviors. This study examines how leaders' control appraisals—a personal orientation reflecting their belief in their own ability to control situations—influence their receptiveness ...

Bayesian state-space models with multiple CPUE data: the case of a mullet fishery
We propose a novel Bayesian hierarchical structure of state-space surplus production models that accommodate multiple catch per unit effort (CPUE) data of various fisheries exploiting the same stock.

Hidden Markov Quantile Models With Trends for Analysing Air Temperature Data
There is the question of whether climate change, expressed by time‐trends in temperature, is of a heterogeneous nature or not. Here, the time‐trend heterogeneity argument has been investigated using Hidden Markov (HM) quantile time‐trends models in temperature time series.

Simple reparameterization to improve convergence in linear mixed models
Slow convergence and mixing are one of the main problems of Markov chain Monte Carlo (McMC) algorithms applied to mixed models in animal breeding. Poor convergence is to a large extent caused by high posterior correlation between variance components and ...

ABSTRACT Background Lebrikizumab is approved to treat patients with moderate‐to‐severe atopic dermatitis (AD). Objectives This study evaluated the 16‐week efficacy outcomes of lebrikizumab in adults and adolescents with severe AD in ADvocate trials who would be eligible for treatment based on South Korean reimbursement‐like criteria. Methods This was a
