Fast Computation of MD-DCT-IV/MD-DST-IV by MD-DWT or MD-DCT-II

SIAM Journal on Scientific Computing, 2003
The authors reveal relationships between the type-IV multidimensional discrete cosine transform (MD-DCT-IV) and the type-II multidimensional discrete cosine transform (MD-DCT-II) or the multidimensional discrete W-transform (MD-DWT). Based on the relationships, two new fast algorithms for MD-DCT-IV are proposed.

MDS Arrangements and MDS Descriptors

2004
In this chapter we shall introduce two formalizations of the MDS structure of genes, viz., MDS arrangements and MDS descriptors. MDS arrangements result from representing each elementary or composite MDS by its own symbol, and then by representing the MDS structure of a micronuclear or an intermediate gene by the string of symbols corresponding to the ...

MDS

Proceedings of the eighth ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2000
This paper describes MDS: a Multimodal-based Dialog System that supports communication between the hearing impaired and hearing-abled. The system converts sign language to speech, and combines speech with gesture and lip motion using a human face. The features of the human face are derived by doing a 3D feature extraction of the speaker's face, so that

Proceedings of the November 17-19, 1970, fall joint computer conference on - AFIPS '70 (Fall), 1970
In the education of the deaf, are there problems so special that their solution justifies the use of a computer? And if there are such problems, how can the computer best be used to solve them? Early in the history of the National Technical Institute for the Deaf, its administrators voted "Yes" on the first question and "Let's find out" on the second ...
