Survival Results by the Prospectively Determined Clinical Staging for Locally Advanced Gastric Cancer: A Follow‐Up Study of JCOG1302A

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
Prospectively determined clinical T and N categories clearly stratified long‐term survival in locally advanced gastric cancer. Patients with cT3N+, cT4aN0, cT4aN+, and cT4b disease showed unfavorable prognosis despite standard treatment. These findings may help optimize patient selection for perioperative treatment strategies.

Clinical Anatomy of the Left and Right Atrial Appendages in Humans: Comparative and Developmental Perspective

open access: yesClinical Anatomy, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Human atrial chambers derive from distinct embryonic anlagens, the original embryonic atria gradually transforming into the so‐called auricles, or atrial appendages. This study quantifies macroscopic variations in pectinate muscle architecture in human atrial appendages and evaluates their visualization using clinical imaging modalities.

MDCT of abdominopelvic oncologic emergencies [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Imaging, 2013
Acute complications arising in abdominopelvic malignancies represent a unique subset of patients presenting to the emergency room. The acute presentation can be due to complications occurring in the tumor itself or visceral or vascular structures harboring the tumor.

Basic Assessment of Diagnosis by MDCT in Horses [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
application/pdfIn this equine study, we used an MDCT unit and a trestle for large animals to assess the utility of MDCT in the diagnosis locomotor system disorders and problems in the head and spine.

Diagnosis of Portal Hypertension: Advancing Towards Non‐Invasive Solutions

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, EarlyView.
This review systematically summarizes a full spectrum of non‐invasive diagnostic approaches for portal hypertension (PH), including imaging modalities, elastography, serum biomarkers, composite scoring systems and endoscopic ultrasound‐guided portal pressure gradient (EUS‐PPG), and analyzes their performance across different liver disease etiologies ...

Von Willebrand Factor and ADAMTS13 in Relation to Atherosclerosis in the General Population: The Rotterdam Study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Higher von Willebrand factor (VWF) levels and lower ADAMTS13 activity are linked to increased risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, but their association with atherosclerosis burden, a potential underlying mechanism, remains unclear.

Tracheal collapse diagnosed by multidetector computed tomography: evaluation of different image analysis methods

open access: yesEuropean Clinical Respiratory Journal, 2017
Background: The gold standard for diagnosing excessive tracheal collapse is still evaluation during bronchoscopy. Today, multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) is used to confirm a suspicion of abnormal tracheal collapse.
