Effect of Diet Neutral Detergent Fibre Content on Dry Matter Intake, Nutrient Digestibility, Growth Efficiency and Carcass Characteristics of Finishing South African Mutton Merino Wether Lambs

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 2, March 2026.
Feeding South African Mutton Merino lambs low‐NDF lucerne hay diets improved nutrient digestibility, energy utilisation, growth efficiency, and carcass quality. Despite lower intake at the lowest NDF level, fibre digestibility and feed conversion improved, indicating that highly digestible, low‐NDF finishing diets enhance lamb growth and carcass traits.

Mucin depleted foci, colonic preneoplastic lesions lacking Muc2, show up-regulation of Tlr2 but not bacterial infiltration.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Mucin depleted foci (MDF) are precancerous lesions of the colon in carcinogen-treated rodents and humans at high risk. Since MDF show signs of inflammation we hypothesized that the defective mucous production would expose them to the risk of being ...

Subchronic Exposure to Aripiprazole Subtly Impacts on Rodents' Sperm Quality and Fertility

open access: yesBasic &Clinical Pharmacology &Toxicology, Volume 138, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Aripiprazole, a third‐generation antidepressant/antipsychotic drug, acts on serotonergic and dopaminergic receptors and is widely prescribed for mental disorders, such as depression and schizophrenia. Studies indicate that this class of drugs can impact directly on sperm quality and fertility.

Formaldehyde Emission Pattern of Melamine Impregnated Paper Decorated Medium Density Fiberboard and its Furniture Products

open access: yesBioResources, 2023
Melamine-impregnated paper decorated medium-density fiberboard (MIP-MDF) is the main board used for wooden furniture materials in China, and the formaldehyde released from the board and furniture products is harmful to human beings and is a wide concern.

How old are the stars in the halo of NGC 5128 (Centaurus A)?

open access: yes, 2010
NGC 5128 (Centaurus A) is, at the distance of just 3.8 Mpc, the nearest easily observable giant elliptical galaxy. Therefore it is the best target to investigate the early star formation history of an elliptical galaxy. Our aims are to establish when the

How Do Projections of Meteorological Droughts Vary Across Models and Regions?

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 4, 28 February 2026.
Abstract Quantifying how and where climate change will alter meteorological drought properties is a priority to inform adaptation policies. Here we use the standardized precipitation index to portray future changes in the climatological properties of moderate drought events projected by the latest generation of Earth system models.

An inefficient dwarf: Chemical abundances and the evolution of the Ursa Minor dwarf spheroidal galaxy

open access: yes, 2015
We present detailed chemical element abundance ratios of 17 elements in three metal poor stars in the Ursa Minor dwarf spheroidal galaxy, which we combine with extant data from the literature to assess the predictions of a novel suite of galaxy chemical ...

Identification of Multilayer Packaging Materials by Selective Dissolution and Precipitation With Minimal Concentration of Solvents, FTIR, and DSC for Mechanical Recycling

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, Volume 143, Issue 8, February 20, 2026.
Methodology for identifying multilayer packaging materials using selective dissolution and precipitation technique, microscopy, FTIR, and DSC. ABSTRACT Environmental problems related to waste accumulation have encouraged recycling, especially of polymers, such as multilayer packaging, which is hardly recycled because it consists of distinct materials ...

Evaluation of Styrene-based Copolymers and Glutaraldehyde for Medium-density Fiberboard Production

open access: yesBioResources
The performance of medium density fiberboard (MDF) with styrene-based copolymers and glutaraldehyde was evaluated. Styrene/n-butyl acrylate (SBA), styrene maleic anhydride (SMA), and glutaraldehyde (GA) were tested at 1%, 2.5%, and 5% levels.

The Potential Use of Nanozycosil and Sodium Montmorillonite (NaMMT) Nanoclay to Decrease Water Absorption in MDF [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Wood and Paper Industries, 2011
In the present study, the potential use of zycosil and clay nanomaterials was examined to decrease water absorption of Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF). For this, a group of MDF samples were coated by nanozycosil and in the other group, nanoclay was used ...
