The MDF discrimination measure: Fisher in disguise

Neural Networks, 2004
Recently, a discrimination measure for feature extraction for two-class data, called the maximum discriminating (MDF) measure (Talukder and Casasent [Neural Networks 14 (2001) 1201-1218]), was introduced. In the present paper, it is shown that the MDF discrimination measure produces exactly the same results as the classical Fisher criterion, on the ...

Fibre toughening of MDF cement

Journal of Materials Science, 1985
Fibre reinforced cements are of considerable industrial importance, the production of asbestos cement amounting to about 5 m tonne per annum. The search for fibres other than asbestos has led to the investigation of glass, polypropylene, cellulose (and other fibrous materials) in a cement matrix. Whilst there has been much work on the fibrous component

Toughening of MDF - OPC Composites

MRS Proceedings, 1990
AbstractMacro-Defect-Free (MDF) materials are cement-polymer composites exhibiting high flexural strengths and high toughness (for cement based systems). The incorporation of fibers into MDF composites has been found to offer the possibility of increasing both the ultimate flexural strength and toughness of MDF materials prepared using an ordinary ...

Modeling and Simulation of MDF Bagasse Fiber Drying

2015 25th International Conference on Computer Theory and Applications (ICCTA), 2015
Drying process is the most important stage in Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) production. On one hand, this process is considered the most energy-consuming stage in MDF manufacturing which affecting the final price of the product, in addition, the loss of the energy represents50-60% of the total energy.

Bending of refined MDF boards

2001
The article discusses the influence of grinding, depth of grinding and surface refinement on the stability of MDF boards. In the experiment discussed, the commercial MDF boards of 25-mm thickness and of 100 x 500 mm size were used. Some MDF board samples were ground at one side only, while some were ground at both sides.

Kriechverhalten UF-verleimter MDF
