The Venetian Vernacular Lexicon in Eleventh‐ and Twelfth‐Century Latin Documents: Insights from the Codice Diplomatico Veneziano

open access: yesTransactions of the Philological Society, Volume 124, Issue 1, Page 168-199, March 2026.
Abstract This study investigates the lexicographical potential of Medieval Latin documentation from the Venetian area of the Italo‐Romance domain, highlighting the need for a systematic approach to bridge Latin and vernacular linguistic developments. The project MEDITA – Medieval Latin Documentation and Digital Italo‐Romance Lexicography.

Sputter erosion of Si(001) using a new silicon MEAM potential and different thermostats

open access: yes, 2007
We present a new parametrization of the MEAM potential for Si and show that it reproduces key material properties of Si better than the 1999 Baskes MEAM paramatrization and the Stillinger-Weber potential.

Orientation‐Dependent Phase Transformation Pathways Enabling Superior Superelastic and Elastocaloric Performance of NiTi Alloys

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 12, 27 February 2026.
By integrating simulations and experiments, the preferred (001) crystallographic texture promotes reversible martensite formation through variant selection, enhancing both superelastic and elastocaloric performance. This work provides fundamental guidelines for designing high‐efficiency NiTi‐based functional materials. Abstract Developing elastocaloric

New Zirconium Hydrogen Second Nearest Neighbor Modified Embedded Atom Method (MEAM) Potential For Simulation of Stacking Fault Energy Along the <0110> Path Of The Hexagonal Closely Packed Lattice Basal Plane

open access: yes, 2014
A new Modified Embedded Atom Method (MEAM) potential for zirconium and hydrogen, called the second nearest-neighbor MEAM (2nnMEAM), was created to more effectively simulate the stacking fault energy of different zirconium hydrogen solid solutions along ...

Mills and society in early medieval northern Italy

open access: yesEarly Medieval Europe, Volume 34, Issue 1, Page 3-33, February 2026.
Drawing on the extensive documentary record of northern Italy, available archaeological evidence, and comparative case studies from early medieval Europe, this study demonstrates that mill‐based landscapes in the Po and Friuli‐Venetian plains were shaped by society as a whole.

Mechanisms of Action Involved in the In Vivo Gastroprotective Response of Fruits: A Systematic Review

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Gastrointestinal diseases remain a significant global health concern, primarily due to the limitations of current pharmacological treatments, which often come with adverse side effects and high recurrence rates. This situation highlights the urgent need for safer and more effective alternatives.

Gold Nanoparticle Melting: Effects of Size, Support Interaction, and Orientation

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 1, January 2026.
Rapid melting of a Au1709 nanoparticle after the critical radius rc$$r_c$$ is reached. A crystalline core (colored atoms) of significant size and positioned toward the restrained bottom atomic layer disappears within only 6 K. An understanding of nanoparticle (NP) melting is essential for both fundamental nanoscience and the design of high‐temperature ...
