Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Preliminary investigation of an electrical network model for ultrasonic scattering [PDF]

open access: yes
The behavior of acoustic attenuation in a solid is related to the electrical transmission line model where the electrical shunt conductance, which is frequency dependent, represents the loss due to the scattering sites in the solid. Results indicate that

Linearization of randomly weighted empiricals under long range dependence with application to nonlinear regression quantiles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
This paper discusses some asymptotic uniform linearity results of randomly weighted empirical processes based on long range dependent random variables+ These results are subsequently used to linearize nonlinear regression quantiles in a nonlinear ...

Molecular cancer prevention: Intercepting disease

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Oncological practice must evolve, from treating established tumours to proactive cancer interception before clinical manifestation. This will require mechanistic insight into tumour initiation, validated biomarkers of early disease development and redesigned clinical trials, enabling cancer interception to become a core pillar of oncology with the ...

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Reliable prediction of heat of vaporization of n-alkanes at 298.15 K [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2010
A reliable model for the prediction of the heat of vaporization for n-alkanes at 298.15 K with the number of carbon atoms and normal boiling point as the only input parameters is recommended. The new model is compared with other literature models and was

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.
