Mean Residence Time of a Liquid in a Trickling Filter
Journal of the Sanitary Engineering Division, 1959Pilot plant research studies aimed at broadening the basic knowledge relative to the performance of trickling filters were initiated. This paper presents the results of initial hydraulic studies in which the mean residence time was determined for tap water applied to columns packed with spherical media under conditions of varying hydraulic loading ...

A method for calculating the mean residence times of catenary metabolites
Biopharmaceutics & Drug Disposition, 1991AbstractA method for calculating the mean residence times of metabolites in the body, systemic circulation, and peripheral tissue is described. The calculations require the AUC, AUMC, and derivatives of the plasma concentration versus time curves of the metabolite and its precursor.

Mean Residence Time and Residence Time Distribution When Sawdust Is Dried in Continuous Dryers
Drying Technology, 2008Information on the mean residence time and the residence time distribution is of importance when optimizing a continuous dryer. In this study, an industrial method for determining the mean residence time is developed. The produced method is benchmarked on a laboratory scale against the stop-and-empty method.

A derivation of mean residence time.
European journal of drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics, 1992MRT was derived as the mean value of the continuously distributed random variable residence time. Provide that elimination kinetics is linear and that elimination takes place exclusively from the central compartment, MRT can be calculated from the ratio AUMC/AUC.

Derivation of Mean Cell Residence Time Formula
Journal of Environmental Engineering, 1998Mean cell residence time or MCRT has emerged as the leading design and operation parameter for suspended growth wastewater treatment processes. The commonly used MCRT formula has never been shown to represent the time the microorganisms spend in the system.

Mean residence times in continuous flow systems
Nature, 1977INDIVIDUAL elements of a material which enters a system at a constant rate, resides for some time, and then leaves, can take different paths through the system, travel at different speeds, and be delayed for many reasons. For example, by diffusing into stagnant zones, or by transferring, perhaps across a membrane, into a separate phase, they may take ...

Washout time versus mean residence time.
Die Pharmazie, 1988The relationship between washout time and mean residence time (MRT) of drug is evaluated for pharmacokinetic systems showing either convex disposition curves (bolus i.v. administration) or concave oral curves in a semilogarithmic plot. Generalizing the classical one-compartment approach bounds on the washout times (time for 63.2% or 90% of the dose to ...
