A method of calculating the mean life-time of solar granules

2017 29th Chinese Control And Decision Conference (CCDC), 2017
Solar granulation is a kind of morphological characteristics of solar photosphere caused by convective motion. Because of the mechanism of convective motion, when we calculated the mean life-time of solar granules, we can get the time of convective motion.

Effects of time-dependent large-scale forcing, solar zenith angle, and sea surface temperature on time-mean tropical rainfall processes

Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics, 2009
Effects of time-dependent large-scale forcing (LSF), solar zenith angle (SZA), and sea surface temperature (SST) on time-mean rainfall processes during Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere Coupled Ocean-Atmosphere Response Experiment (TOGA COARE) are examined by conducting a control experiment and a series of sensitivity experiments with a two-dimensional ...

Mean Solar Time and Its Connection to Universal Time

2017
Universal Time is the measure of Earth rotation that also serves as the astronomical basis of civil timekeeping. As the successor to Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), Universal Time intended to maintain uniform time as the angle between zero longitude and the mean sun—a fictitious point moving uniformly along the celestial equator that keeps pace with the Sun

Conversion of Mean Solar Time to Mean Sidereal Time

Nature, 1949
OBSERVATORY practice in the past has always been to use separate clocks for indicating solar and sidereal time. In the case of quartz crystal clocks, this practice could be continued by using two separate crystals, one ground for a frequency of 100 kc./s. and the other for a frequency of 100·273 kc./s.

Effects of time-dependent large-scale forcing, solar zenith angle, and sea surface temperature on time-mean rainfall: a partitioning analysis based on surface rainfall budget

Meteorology and Atmospheric Physics, 2011
Effects of time-dependent large-scale forcing, solar zenith angle, and sea surface temperature on time-mean rainfall during the Tropical Ocean Global Atmosphere Coupled Ocean–Atmosphere Response Experiment (TOGA COARE) are examined through a partitioning analysis of a series of sensitivity cloud-resolving model experiment data based on surface rainfall

Real-time in-situ observation of morphological changes in organic bulk-heterojunction solar cells by means of capacitance measurements

Journal of Applied Physics, 2011
We present a method to directly study temperature induced structural and morphological changes in the active layer of organic solar cells by capacitance determination. At sufficiently high frequencies the change in device capacitance with temperature is dominated by the expansion of the organic layer.

Recent oppositely directed trends in solar climate forcings and the global mean surface air temperature. II. Different reconstructions of the total solar irradiance variation and dependence on response time scale

Proceedings of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2008
We have previously placed the solar contribution to recent global warming in context using observations and without recourse to climate models. It was shown that all solar forcings of climate have declined since 1987. The present paper extends that analysis to include the effects of the various time constants with which the Earth's climate system might

Accurate Testing Methods of Grid-Connected PV Inverters by Means of Real-Time Based Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Simulation Topologies for Validation, Testing, and Grid Integration of Solar Plants

2021
This paper presents hardware-only and real-time based methods to test and investigate PV inverters in an accurate way. Based on existing requirements for grid-connected and islanding operation modes of inverters, test procedures are well-defined and described in standardization frameworks.

The nature of thermovoltaic currents and voltages observed for the polycrystalline silicon synthesized by means of five-time melting of engineering silicon in a solar furnace

Applied Solar Energy, 2011
The current-voltage performances of samples with two ohmic contacts made of polycrystalline silicon synthesized by means of five-time melting in a solar furnace have been investigated under temperature variation from 30 to 200°C. It is shown that, for temperatures from 150 to 200°C, such a sample is characterized by rectifying properties.

Artificial neural network forecast of monthly mean daily global solar radiation of selected locations based on time series and month number

Journal of Cleaner Production, 2019
Abstract Prediction and forecast of monthly mean daily global solar energy available at selected locations are carried out using a nonlinear autoregressive, a nonlinear autoregressive (exogenous) and a hybrid time series methods. The methods are implemented with artificial neural networks.
