Analyzing Electronic Excitations and Exciton Binding Energies in Y6 Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The Y6 molecule is used for increasing the efficiency of organic solar cells. The exciton binding energy is calculated for ensembles of Y6 molecules that are representative of the typically used films. The calculations show that the excitons typically spread out over many molecules.

Simulation of Charge-Equilibration and Acceleration of Solar Energetic Ions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Recent measurements of the mean ionic charge states of solar energetic iron and silicon by SAMPEX and ACE during the large solar events of 1992 November 1 and 1997 November 6 show a mean ionic charge that increases with energy.

The Enrichment History of Baryons in the Universe

open access: yes, 2006
We present predictions for the cosmic metal budget in various phases of baryons from redshift z=6-0, taken from a cosmological hydrodynamic simulation that includes a well-constrained model for enriched galactic outflows. We find that substantial amounts

Unique Performance Considerations for Printable Organic Semiconductor and Perovskite Radiation Detectors: Toward Consensus on Best Practice Evaluation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A lack of standard approaches for testing and reporting the performance of metal halide perovskites and organic semiconductor radiation detectors has resulted in inconsistent interpretation of performance parameters, impeding progress in the field. This Perspective recommends key metrics and experimental details, which are suggested for reporting in ...

The Back Propagation Neural Network-Based Fill Factor and Efficiency Prediction for Perovskite Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvances in Condensed Matter Physics
The research and development of traditional perovskite solar cells requires significant time and cost for process parameter optimization. To address this issue, this study collected relevant data on perovskite solar cells efficiency and employed a back ...

Structural Invariance of Sunspot Umbrae Over the Solar Cycle: 1993-2004

open access: yes, 2010
Measurements of maximum magnetic flux, minimum intensity, and size are presented for 12 967 sunspot umbrae detected on the NASA/NSO spectromagnetograms between 1993 and 2004 to study umbral structure and strength during the solar cycle.

Ferrocene Derivatives Enable Ultrasensitive Perovskite Photodetectors with Enhanced Reverse Bias Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Novel ferrocene derivatives (e.g., FcPhc2) are used as an ultrathin layer hole‐blocking layer, reducing hole injection from the Ag contact. This results in an ultralow noise spectral density of 1.2 × 10−14 A Hz−1/2, and a high specific detectivity of 8.1 × 1012 Jones at −0.5 V.

Optimal Placement of Hybrid Wind-Solar System Using Deep Learning Model

open access: yesInternational Journal of Photoenergy, 2022
In this paper, we develop an optimal placement of solar-wind energy systems using restricted Boltzmann machine (RBM). The RBM considers various factors to scale the process of optimal placement and enables proper sizing and placement for attaining ...

On the origin of the double cell meridional circulation in the solar convection zone

open access: yes, 2018
Recent advances in helioseismology, numerical simulations and mean-field theory of solar differential rotation have shown that the meridional circulation pattern may consist of two or more cells in each hemisphere of the convection zone. According to the
