Prediction of mean weight diameter of soil using machine learning approaches

Agronomy Journal, 2021
AbstractEven though research shows that aggregate stability and mean weight diameter (MWD) are critical components of soil health, it is not routinely measured. An alternative approach to the physical measurement is to calculate these values based on routinely measured soil parameters. Therefore, the objective was to compare two artificial intelligence

EFFECT OF CROPPING SYSTEMS AND FERTILIZERS ON MEAN WEIGHT-DIAMETER OF AGGREGATES OF BRETON PLOT SOILS

Canadian Journal of Soil Science, 1959
Aggregate analyses of Breton plot soils using a wet sieving technique revealed marked differences resulting from cropping practices but few, if any, due to fertilizers. The mean weight-diameter of soils from plots in a 5-year rotation of grains and legumes was almost double the diameter of soils from plots in a wheat-fallow sequence.

Genetic and phenotypic correlations of total weight of lamb weaned with body weight, clean fleece weight and mean fibre diameter in three South African Merino flocks

Livestock Science, 1998
Data collected on three South African Merino flocks were used to estimate genetic and phenotypic correlations of total weight of lamb weaned over three parities (TWW) with two-tooth body weight at 14 to 17 months of age (BW), clean fleece weight (CFW) and mean fibre diameter (MFD).

Lime application effects on soil aggregate properties: Use of the mean weight diameter and synchrotron-based X-ray μCT techniques

Geoderma, 2019
Abstract The hierarchical organization of aggregates in soil is responsible for the presence of inter and intra-aggregate pores. This research aimed to investigate effects of soil surface liming, considering lime rates of 0, 10 and 15 t ha−1, on the intra-aggregate porous system of soil aggregates with equivalent diameters of 2–4 and 1–2 mm, from 0 ...
