High‐Power Hybrid Nanogenerator With Multi‐Degree‐of‐Freedom Mechanical Coupling for Harvesting Water Wave Energy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐power hybrid nanogenerator (HP‐HNG) with multi‐degree‐of‐freedom mechanical coupling is reported, integrating multi‐directional wave energy for output to achieve 1 + 1 > 2 energy harvesting. The HP‐HNG achieves a peak output power of 0.764 W, corresponding to a peak power density of 127.303 W m−3. At a wave frequency of 1 Hz, the HP‐HNG delivers

China's Low‐Carbon Energy Transition Over the Past Two Decades: Experiences and Implications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
China's low‐carbon energy transition features a brief decline and subsequent rebound in coal consumption, alongside the rapid expansion of renewable energy. This study develops a stage‐based analytical framework to explain this evolution from the perspectives of economic development, energy security, and environmental sustainability, revealing how ...

The Philippine Payment System: Efficiency and Implications for the Conduct of Monetary Policy [PDF]

open access: yes
In a modern economy, the payment system is a major component of the country`s infrastructure system. Indeed, no country nowadays can afford to take its payment system for granted.

Entropy‐Driven Physical Amplification in Multivalent Biosensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Detecting scarce molecules usually demands enzymatic amplification such as PCR. A statistical‐mechanical theory now reveals a purely physical alternative: distributing a fixed binding strength over more linker arms exponentially lowers the concentration at which multivalent sensors switch on.

The incentive effects of payment by results [PDF]

open access: yes
Recently the English NHS has introduced an activity-based payment scheme for secondary care - the Payment by Results (PbR) policy. In this paper we discuss, from an economic perspective, the main intended and unintended incentives created by this policy.

From Sensing Mechanisms to System Co‐Design: Graphene‐Based Sensors and Readout Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review establishes a unified PS–EQ–RF framework linking graphene sensing mechanisms, native electrical outputs, and output‐specific readout circuits. Voltage‐, current‐, resistance‐, and capacitance‐type sensing systems are systematically classified to guide architecture selection, low‐noise design, system co‐design, and practical integration ...

Price Incentives and Consumer Payment Behaviour [PDF]

open access: yes
In this paper we estimate the effect of particular price incentives on consumer payment patterns using transaction-level data. We find that participation in a loyalty program and access to an interest-free period, both of which lower the price of credit ...
