Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccine
The Indian Journal of Pediatrics, 2003MMR is a live attenuated vaccine. Indian children show almost 90% seroconversion against measles and rubella and 90% against mumps. Several adverse effects have been reported. Epidemiological studies do not support a causative link between MMR and autism, IBD or GBS. There is an association between the Urabe strain of mumps vaccine and viral meningitis.

Allergic Reactions to Measles-Mumps-Rubella Vaccination
Pediatrics, 2001Objective.Immunization of egg-allergic children against measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) is often deferred or even denied, although the safety of this vaccination has been clearly shown. Moreover, the majority of severe allergic reactions have occurred in egg-tolerant vaccinees.

The measles–mumps–rubella (MMR) vaccine is currently the exclusive tool for the prevention of measles, mumps, and rubella in Europe. The description below of single measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines is given for historical reasons and for the characterization of their properties as components of the MMR vaccine.

Neurologic Disorders After Measles-Mumps-Rubella Vaccination
Pediatrics, 2002Objective. The possibility of adverse neurologic events has fueled much concern about the safety of measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccinations. The available evidence concerning several of the postulated complications is controversial. The aim of this study was to assess whether an association prevails between MMR vaccination and encephalitis, aseptic ...

Measles-Mumps-Rubella Vaccine and Autism
Pediatrics, 2003To the Editor .— The recent article by Makela et al1 provides no meaningful data on any possible association between the measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine and autism. This manufacturer-supported study is biased toward a negative result. Using hospital admissions is designed to underestimate the …
