On dense, locally finite subgroups of the automorphism group of certain homogeneous structures
Abstract Let A$\mathcal {A}$ be a countable structure such that each finite partial isomorphism of it can be extended to an automorphism. Evans asked if the age (set of finite substructures) of A$\mathcal {A}$ satisfies Hrushovski's extension property, then is it true that the automorphism group Aut(A)$\operatorname{{\it Aut}}(\mathcal {A})$ of A ...

A natural adaptive process for collective decision‐making
Consider an urn filled with balls, each labeled with one of several possible collective decisions. Now let a random voter draw two balls from the urn and pick her more preferred as the collective decision. Relabel the losing ball with the collective decision, put both balls back into the urn, and repeat.

Convolution, Separation and Concurrency [PDF]
A notion of convolution is presented in the context of formal power series together with lifting constructions characterising algebras of such series, which usually are quantales. A number of examples underpin the universality of these constructions, the

Abstract An output feedback linear‐quadratic Gaussian compensator (combined controller and state estimator) for the regulation of intravenous‐infused alcohol studies and treatment using a noninvasive transdermal alcohol biosensor is developed. The design is based on a population model involving an abstract semilinear parabolic hybrid reaction‐diffusion

Some Algebraic Classification of Semiregular Hypermodules in Connection to the Radical
We call a Krasner right S‐hypermodule A regular if each cyclic subhypermodule of A is a direct summand of A, and we also call A semiregular if every finitely generated subhypermodule of A lies above a direct summand of A. In this study, some properties of such hypermodules are achieved.

The Relation of Spatial and Tensor Product of Arveson Systems --- The Random Set Point of View [PDF]
We characterise the embedding of the spatial product of two Arveson systems into their tensor product using the random set technique. An important implication is that the spatial tensor product does not depend on the choice of the reference units, i.e ...

Spectral asymptotics of periodic elliptic operators
We demonstrate that the structure of complex second-order strongly elliptic operators $H$ on ${\bf R}^d$ with coefficients invariant under translation by ${\bf Z}^d$ can be analyzed through decomposition in terms of versions $H_z$, $z\in{\bf T}^d$, of $H$

The unital endomorphisms of B(H) of (Powers) index n are classified by certain U(n)-orbits in the set of non-degenerate representations of the Cuntz algebra O_n on H.
