Stereoscopic depth perception measurement using depth image gradient
4th International Conference on Awareness Science and Technology, 2012While the 3D imaging industry growing, the ambiguity in evaluating quality of 3D contents remains as a potential barrier. This paper describes a method to evaluate depth perception quality of stereoscopic 3D contents, by observing the depth image gradient magnitude and quantifying the spatial variations using it.

Particle depth measurement based on depth-from-defocus
Optics & Laser Technology, 1999An optical and digital method has been developed for the detection of the depth of small particles distributed in 3D space and its performance has been examined in numerical simulations and experiments. The present method is based on depth-from-defocus in which the depth of particle is detected from the image blur of the particle.

DEPTH DOSE MEASUREMENTS WITH LITHIUM FLUORIDE
American Journal of Roentgenology, 1968Per cent depth doses were measured with LiF in water phantoms exposed to orthovoltage x rays and cobalt 60 radiation. Agreement within ±I per cent was achieved between LiF and ionization chamber measurements of cobalt 60 per cent depth dose. Unsatisfactory results were obtained with LiF measurements of per cent depth dose from orthovoltage x rays.
