Measurement of the Neutron Radius of 208Pb Through Parity-Violation in Electron Scattering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
We report the first measurement of the parity-violating asymmetry A_PV in the elastic scattering of polarized electrons from 208Pb. A_PV is sensitive to the radius of the neutron distribution (Rn). The result A_PV = 0.656 \pm 0.060 (stat) \pm 0.014 (syst)

Airborne Single-Pass Multi-Baseline InSAR Layover Separation Method Based on Multi-Look Compressive Sensing

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
Due to the small number of baselines (2–3), the traditional L1 norm compressive sensing method for layover solution in InSAR has poor separation ability and height estimation stability and a long operation time.

Experimental Demonstration of Optimal Unambiguous State Discrimination [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
We present the first full demonstration of unambiguous state discrimination between non-orthogonal quantum states. Using a novel free space interferometer we have realised the optimum quantum measurement scheme for two non-orthogonal states of light ...

Proof of the Standard Quantum Limit for Monitoring Free-Mass Position

open access: yes, 2010
The measurement result of the moved distance for a free mass m during the time t between two position measurements cannot be predicted with uncertainty smaller than sqrt{hbar t/2m}.

Sequential dispersive measurement of a superconducting qubit

open access: yes, 2020
We present a superconducting device that realizes the sequential measurement of a transmon qubit. The device disables common limitations of dispersive readout such as Purcell effect or transients in the cavity mode by turning on and off the coupling to ...

Quantum measurement and decoherence [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Distribution functions defined in accord with the quantum theory of measurement are combined with results obtained from the quantum Langevin equation to discuss decoherence in quantum Brownian motion. Closed form expressions for wave packet spreading and

Differential thermal analysis techniques as a tool for preliminary examination of catalyst for combustion

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
The need for more economical catalysts for various combustion reactions is continuously driving catalyst development. We present Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) as suitable techniques for fast examination ...

Self-consistent tomography of the state-measurement Gram matrix [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
State and measurement tomography make assumptions about the experimental states or measurements. These assumptions are often not justified because state preparation and measurement errors are unavoidable in practice.
