Analysis and reduction of phase errors caused by nonuniform surface reflectivity in a phase-shifting measurement system

open access: yes, 2017
The measurement accuracy of a phase-shifting measurement system is adversely affected by phase errors. This paper presents a theoretical analysis of phase errors caused by nonuniform surface reflectivity, such as varying reflectivity and a sharp change ...

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.

Water Vapour Effects in Mass Measurement

open access: yes, 2007
International audienceWater vapour inside the mass comparator enclosure is a critical parameter. In fact, fluctuations of this parameter during mass weighing can lead to errors in the determination of an unknown mass.

Liquid biopsy‐based diagnostic evaluation of hypermethylated CpG sites for ovarian cancer diagnosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This schematic outlines the workflow from biomarker identification to duplex MethyLight assay validation for epithelial ovarian cancer diagnosis using cfDNA‐based liquid biopsy. Initial screening of hypermethylated CpG candidates (cg02957270, cg10061138 cg00480298, COL2A1) was performed in tissue using ARMS‐PCR, COBRA, qPCR and image analysis. Selected

Estimation in a linear multivariate measurement error model with a change point in the data

open access: yes, 2007
A linear multivariate measurement error model AX=B is considered. The errors in [A B] are row-wise finite dependent, and within each row, the errors may be correlated.

Patient therapy outcome modeling in cancer organoids is improved by cancer‐associated fibroblasts and organoid assembly convolution

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Patient‐derived organoids (PDOs) from pancreatic, colorectal, and gastric cancers were used to evaluate standard and experimental therapies. Incorporating cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) into organoid cultures improved patient therapy outcome prediction.

New optical sensing system applied to taut wire based straightness measurement

open access: yes
In modern manufacturing industry, precision components are typically produced on Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machine tools which translate their accuracy onto machined parts. This accuracy is affected by a set of different motion errors caused by
